Oh that is horrible! I am so sorry! I think relationships with dogs are much easier than with men! Make this a learning experience and learn everything you can from it! Good luck with finding Bruizer a new home, I'm sure you won't have a problem! |
Call the all of the people that you have outstanding bills on. Tell them the situation and I would bet that most, if not all, will work with you and set up a payment plan. Best wishes and big hugs. |
I have called and they (only two) want their money. They said since its in my name then there is now way around it and they have been trying to wrok out a payment plan and my soon to be ex just gives them a run around so they are not willing to work with me. The electric is due to be shut off on the 6th of august. Selling Bruizer is really the only way I have to come up with the $ to pay it and that is why I considered it. I don't want to and he really isn't much to take care of, just makeing sure he has food and water down each day. I buy all his food for about a month so I am good on that. But I have no other income other than my job and still that is only 200 a week not counting gas and all that to get to and from. I live about 2 hours north of Detroit. In Lapeer. Thank you all so much for trying to help. |

I agree with calling the utility companies and making out payment plans. There are also situations where they can take some money off of your bill if you are unable to pay. Next I would call your local agencies that deal with low income issues. They can work wonders and some will take care of your utilities for you! You can also get food assistance and such there even with a job if you qualify. I would hate to see you have to give up your yorkie if you don't have to. Are there things you can cut out like internet/cable/phone, ect until you have a plan? I have been in situations where money was tight before and there are almost always ways to make it work if you live at the bare minimum and get help where you can find it! |
I was left in a similar situation by my ex, and I'm so sorry that you are going through this. I contacted the Salvation Army (recommended by a friend) and they paid my back utility bills. I was so grateful to have the help, otherwise my son and I would have had no heating oil over the winter or electricity. Reach out! Ask for help from United Way, as well. That's what they do, help people that just need a hand up until they can get back on their feet;) Prayers headed up for you and your family:love: |
Hello everyone, Just thought I would update those who are following this thread. I have not have any luck with the utility company's nor with any emergency services like Salvation army, state help, nothing like that! I am in tears as I write this, my electric is due to be shut off on the 6th and they wont let me make any kind of arrangements unless $300 is paid before then. :( I just dont know what else to do right now. I go back to work monday but that is the day the electric is due to be shut off. I am sorry and just needed to vent. I have no where else to go. Thank you all for listening. I love YT. :( |
Do you have a 401K? You could do a hardship withdraw or maybe you could borrow the money to pay the elec bill. I'm surprised the elec company is not working with you more on this, $300 is a lot. Have you tried any women's shelters? They don't just provide shelter, they also help women out who need help paying their bills or finding a job. They help out a lot of women going through divorces. If they can't help you, they will assist you in finding someone who can. I really don't want you to get rid of your baby just to pay bills. You are in my prayers. |
http://www.mplp.org/Issues/03-05-01 I looked up this for you online.. I'm trying to find more info to help you out. There really should be State Emergency Relief from your utility company. Have you spoken to the very top person you can talk to? |
|
Thank you, I have talked to about 4 different head honcho's there and they wont help me. I have contacted most of the low income places and shelters and not getting no responce and i really do have time to wait for one to call. Monday is right around the corner. I Have a lady interested in Bruizer but I really dont want to loose him too! I love my boy, I have waited my whole life for him and now I have to give him up and it hurts so bad. I love him like I do my own children. Brenden is 2 1/2 and Allison is 1. I don't know if I ever mentioned their names and ages before but now I have. Thank you all for trying to find a way around this but I think I might have to let my baby Bruizer go to a new home. Love ya all and thanks so much |
What about PeopleCare? They provide assistance to those in Michigan who need help paying elec bills. Their info is here along with links to more assistance programs http://www.consumersenergy.com/welco....asp?ss2id=120 Have you contacted your Department of Human Services or asked about Michigan's Emergency Relief Program? This is what they are there for. The Emergency Relief Program is for those with a shutoff notice. Try this link to apply. http://www.michigan.gov/heatingassis...5989--,00.html |
Jenni - what about trying your local churches? Many of them have emergency funds to help in such a circumstance (I know that ours does) especially when children are involved.... Hugs to you Brenden and Allison. |
