I need Advice and maybe help Ok A lady here in NE is having to rehome her 8 month old male Yorkie. He is a Great dog but she would like me to take and rehome him for her. They are Millitary and leave in less than a week:eek: Anyway I have agreed to take him and find him a new home I am just really scared that. If I don't find him a good home I'll end up with another sweetie. I Do want another pup but I would like a Little girl:rolleyes: I guess I am just being Lori and wanting to help out . Any way I think I can get him for 100.00 from her and as long as my cost stays there I will find a home for that fee. What do you all think? Should I take on this task? |
I would suggest to her that she turn him over to a Yorkie rescue. If she cares about finding him a good home, she doesn't need to involve you and they have a thorough screening process. They will have no problem rehoming an 8 month old puppy. They will take care of any medical issues he may have and most likely neuter him as well. They will also be very selective to the home he goes to. I know, I adopted a 7 month old yorkie male and was chosen out of hundreds of inquiries! They are very selective and I was very blessed! The rescue did a phone screening and a home visit and I completed a lengthy application. They truly had the puppy's best interest in mind. This way you will not be tempted to keep him and you will not incur any medical expenses you may not be aware of. Unless you want to adopt him yourself, I would stay out of it but suggest he be placed in the very capable hands of a rescue. Good luck! |
I am in Colorado, I wish I could take another :( eh.. |
I think if you have the time and can do this its wonderful of you to take him in and rehome him for her. I'm sure you can find a home that is very wonderful and a perfect fit for him. I wish you the best in finding him the greatest home possible if you decide to take on this task. |
If it were me I would take him and find him a home. You will have no trouble findng a yorkie a home. Maybe someone on here will take him |
Well, if you rehomed him quickly, it would probably work out okay. But, if it took awhile, you know you would get attached. It's so easy to get attached to these little guys. I guess you just have to follow your heart. That's what I did when I got my little Lily. I knew that she was sick, but that didn't matter. I bet you would be able to find a good home for him right here on YT. You're like me, you always want to help and then you get into situations or get your heart broken. Just do what is right for YOU. |

I am waiting for the final word from DH . And If I do get really attached to him. I guess I'll have another to love :D |
Do you have any info on him and photos? |
I will have I wanted to talk to my hubby first and then get that info :) I do know that his name is Jordan and he is about 8# and very good with kids and other pets. |
My boyfriends sister in law, has been trying to get a yorkie for her grandmother, her grandmother is young (65) and loves animals. She lives alone and always wanted a yorkie. I will ask her if they would wanna try adopting this baby since we are not far from Nebraska. If you only want someone you know thats fine too :) |

I believe you will have no problem finding a home for an 8 month old puppy. If you end up with him it'll only be because you fall in love,(not because you can't find a home) and then you won't care that he's not a girl.;) |

Girl, you have the biggest heart, and you know you shouldn't have any trouble finding him a home, and if something happens and you don't I couldn't think of a better person to have him, you will be almost caught up with me:D Lori your a really great person:p |
Your so nice to be doing this. I wish you all the luck and I'm sure you won't have any problems finding him a new home. ;) |
week I am sure if you don't have enough time in a week to find a home..you can take him with you and find one when you get settled again...people everywhere love Yorks.. |
OMG Lori!!! You are surely our very own Yorkie Talk Angel. Between Maureen, Papi and now here, I swear girl, I don't know how you do it. Even if it is for a short time in your home, this little boy will get enough love to last him a very long time. And I could not want for a better judge of character than you, when choosing his next forever home. Hugs to you girlfriend, you continue to amaze me, Lauren |
