How do your get the hair straight?
 

Here is a pic of Ryo as most of you have seen. The SD card slot of my camera is broken so i cannot retrieve any new pictures right now.

You can see how wavy his hair is. I can brush his butt and it will stay straight for a second but if you turn ur head for a minute it will curl back up a bit. His body hair has a very slight wave. his facial hair drys straight

When I wash his hair I don't blow it dry, it drys naturally. and i brush it as it dry. For those who have posted Yorkies with straight hair, do you you do anything in specific to make it stay straight. Does the act of blow drying straighten it? is there some kind of finisher i need to put on it to get it to stay straight?

my next question is i am sick of these cheep pin brushes i have been buying here in PR. I want to know which CC brushes or combs to get.. they don't have to be the most expensive CC brushes or combs, but I would like to know which ones will work for me for the least amount of money, cause I am on a budget (until a few million fall from the sky on my back patio) If you all recommend a brush that cost over 30 bucks thas fine cause as of now i have purchased two pin brushed from pet shops in the last year for Ryo , adding up to at least 16 bucks so far.

so tell me what CC comb or brush you have if you have one, which one you would have purchased if you had the budget, and which one you purchased but you could have bought the less expensive XXXX style CC comb or brush because it does the same job as the one you have.

More importantly is there a place to get any CC products without needing to pay some crazy fee on top of an outrageous shipping charge thas 25 dollars instead of the normal USPS less than 10 dolla charge for the weight of products i wanna buy.

There is detangling spray you can use, we've found it helps our Winky keep his hair very straight. Good luck!

i've been told to blow it dry with a round brush.

What's a round brush? and what detangler spray?

I use the Fresh 'n Clean No Tangle spray and it keeps his hair straight. I sent you a private message with info on where to buy it in PR.

yeah i got it, thanks so much. I used that before but I didnt like how it made his hair feel . If i dont get any other advice i may try it gain because i dont want to... the store owner here in Carolina suggested it, but I dont know why because Ryo's hair really is never tangled...

Here is a pic after he has been washed you can see the waves there after i brushed it dry. If its not possible for me to get it straighter i can live with that. But i just wanted to try to get it straight. I appreciate your assistance. Like i said if no one can help me I will try the other stuff once more.

A yorkie has to have the right genetics for straight hair. Your baby has genes for some waviness to his coat. Lacy has very straight hair but my parents yorkie has a more cottony coat that tends to get some wave to it too when it gets longer. When I have bathed him before I am able to comb his hair while blowdrying and get it pretty straight but the waves will come back by the next day.

I blow dry Reeses and it keeps his hair straight. His hair will naturally dry straight for the most part but it does tend to have a wave in it but when I blow dry it and brush it out straight while I blow dry it..it stays straight. :thumbup:

I heard once that you could use a straightening iron on their hair? Anyone else ever heard this??

Yeah one day i did it and i swore it was straight and 5 seconds later it was curly. Here is one more... i think he has not only got a wavy gene but a lil bit of the grudge gene as well or alien cause his eyes are glowin!
Freaked me out the first time i saw that.

anyway so what about brushes... I am really lookin for a nice sturdy brush or comb is that is recommened

oh crap ur giving me flash backs of when my best friend "accidentally" burned my forehead... I cant see using any kind of flat iron on him.. You can gage the heat on yourself but for animals if its too hot you wouldn't know until it was too late...I did think about it though but I opted not too

I think that day the camera somhow picked up more wave than my eys saw, even my neighbor said it when she saw the pic.. I will run and buy a blow dryer next week, I need one anyway and maybe that will help Thanks

I'm curious about brushes as well....I bought a pretty cheap brush from petsmart and it worked well at first, but now the pins are falling out! I've only had it for about a month. I think I'm going to get a small travel sized conair brush to replace it. It is what I use on my own hair and they last forever. I don't know how well it will work on a yorkie, though! It's worth a try, I thought.

Exactly the pins broke on both of mine as well. I don't wanna go out and buy something that will break his hair off.. I rather spend a lil money now on a good one than keep buying cheap replacements every 4-6 months.
