I am so angry Hi everyone.. I am sick to my stomach as I write this and want everyone opinion about this situation. This has been the worst week-end and start of this week for me. Sunday my female went into labor , I called my vet at 9:30 am to ask about my dog having a green discharge. Was told not to worry about it . She had her first puppy at 8:30 pm that night it was dead , she had #2 about 20-30 mins later a male it lived, ..# 3 was about 1 hour later and dead. She formed a water sack and stopped labor had to call the vet it took her 45 min to get to my house to give a shot and pull the pup out.. #4 was dead as too. She said she though there was at least 2 more pups and to give the shot if she didn’t start labor again.. She said if she didn’t start labor again she would need a c-section. I called her back and told her told her to do the c-section because she never started labor again and I wanted to try to save any remaining pups . I told her to also spay her because of all the problem she was having with the birth. She does the c-section and there are no more puppies. She said what she was feeling was her uterus. She said ,she was feeling fibrous mass and scare tissue . This dog had never been bred before this is her 3 heat and she will be two in september.. The little male she had was small but health he weighed 3 0zs. Today I took him in to just get him checked out and to see if he was dehyrated . The vet said he was fine but maybe a little dehydrated gave his some fluid under the skin, said his stomach looked good, looked like he was eating ok, but he wanted to top him off with a tubing. I was at the desk paying my bill when my sister walk in and wanted to peek at the puppy. The puppy was lifeless and still. I hollered for the vet, another other vet who works there rushed him to the back but he was died. He aspirated from the tubing. I was so angry. The vet who had done it left out the back door when I yelled my puppy is dead . My nephew was outside heard me say it and saw him. He called me 2hours later and told me he was sorry, but it happens sometimes. I told him what my nephew said about him coming out the back door after I yelled and he said he didn’t hear me. He asked what I wanted to do. He said he could knock off the bill.. I told him that I came in with a healthy live puppy and left with a dead one.. I now have a screaming female looking for her pup that he can‘t give back to her. I told him most people when they kills your dog replaces it , whether it was on purpose or not. I didn’t not ask him to tube the pup, I took the pup in to see if he was dehydrated. So he says he is going to look for a replacement for me. I told him I know thing happen but I was out alot of money on the pup because I was going to use him for breeding. And that I wanted to approve any replacement dog. I’m sorry this is so long I am so upset just wanted to vent and get everyone’s opinion. Was I out of line for asking him to replace my pup? |

Im crying as I read this, knowing that its all the vets fault. they could have saved all the pups. IM SO SORRY!!!!!!!!!! |
I am so sorry. The poor mama must be beside herself. That vet should have stood up and taken it instead of sneaking out the back. Maybe you should report him. |
I am terribly sorry to read this :( I know everyone was looking for you I would report the vet as well Sending you lots of hugs Fran and Sammi |
i am so sorry |
I am so sorry about your pups and what your sweet girl went through. You are in my prayers. |
OMG...Oh is that just terrible....I'm sooooo sorry for your babies that you lost but that poor mom...that is just heartbreaking. I'd have been hysterical losing the puppies during birth but to have the VET kill one ? I think I would have a very serious problem with that - how could he DO that ? Why did he tube a baby if it was just dehydrated ? Did he have a reason or was he just throwing vet weight around ? To me - that's incompetence - at least he could have had someone monitoring that puppy WHILE he had a tube in.... That poor mommie is going to be missing her babies so bad...That's so very tragic. How is the mom now ? Is she still crying for her babies ? I know that can last a while and she can get depressed.....poor little girl ...this is really sad for her. |
I'm also so sorry for the loss of your pups and what happened to your momma dog. It is so sad. It was hard to read your post, is it possible to break it up in paragraphs so it is easier for people to read? |
:cry8: I am just heartbroken for you and your babies!! Everyone has been so excited and looking forward to good news. I am so sorry that this happened. I hope your mommie yorkie will be OK! I hope that vet will do the right thing ... I would never allow him to touch my baby again! |
Can you sue for malpractice? i assume so. They are a type of doctor and caused death upon the puppies. |
OMG! This breaks my heart, I am so sorry this happened. If I was you I would talk to the vet about ripping up the bill and also giving you some compensation. This is so upsetting, I will keep you in my prayers and close to heart, were all thinking of you and sending you lots of hugs. We're here for you if you need anything. |
Does not sound like the kind of vet I would want to use in the future. I know things sometimes happen, but where is the compassion from the vet? |
Omg! i'm so sorry!! i hope the mama is doin okay!! |
So sorry for your losses That is a terrible thing that happened to you and your pups. I cried reading your story. I hope your momma pup is doing okay. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. |
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about it. I don't know if I could of handled it if I were you. Just loosing the puppies from birth is hard enough but to loose one only remaining pup at the vets would have killed me off. It is so heart breaking. :( |
Oh I am sorry for your loses....I think you really need to report this vet, by the sounds of your story he should not be practicing. |
I am so sorry. What a terrible situation you have gone through... you must be a mess. I feel so bad for your female yorkie. No puppies. :( |
I am so sorry for what you have gone through. You and your little one are in my prayers. |
I'm am so sorry to hear this. I don't even have words! It is horrible. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. |
how can people be so stupid i mean they went to school for this right that vet should have suggested a c-section in the beginning. I am so sorry for your loss i know what its like to lose a baby. |
I'm so sorry for your loss honey. All of us at YT are here for you. I'm just so sorry that you encountered an incompetent doctor. Your baby must be heartbroken. I know you will take good care of her and make sure that moron doesn't get away with it. He better find you a good puppy. Infact he has to get all of us at YT to approve ;) We will all pray for your baby girl and the pups up in heaven. |
OMG I am s0 s0 s0 sorry to hear what you and your baby when through. HELL NO you are not wrong for asking for a replacement puppy he should be lucky that is all u want if it were me i'd sue his ass practicing on ur puppy like its a ginne pig. word of advice FIND A NEW VET. This makes me so upset he sounds like he all about the money and doesn't really care about the pets he treats. |
sad news I was so concerned about the green discharge. The vet should have suggested a section right then and there to save the remainder of the pups. You did everything you could and the vet failed at his job. Best wishes for your female..if anyone can be of any help, let us know. |
This breaks my heart! Those poor angels. |
Thank you everyone it mean so much to me for your kind words and thoughts ..momma is beside herself she keep wondering all around the house looking for her pup, whining and crying..then she looks at me like where is my baby..I look at her and my eyes brim with tear and my heart breaking. I just feel so bad for her. |
How awful!! I'm so sorry to hear about your puppies!! I feel for you and your poor yorkie mama and will be praying for you all. I think it was perfectly fair of you to ask for a replacement for your little puppy. In fact, if it would've been "accepted customary practice" to promptly c-section a mama that presents with green discharge, then he is also liable to you for all the other pups that died as well because he failed to properly diagnose and treat your yorkie mama. Not to mention the "intentional infliction of emotional distress" (a.k.a. pain and suffering) he caused you. I hope you are able to get some type of compensation for your loss. My heart goes out to you. |
OMG Thats so awful, my thoughts are with you both. I just cant imagine how heartbreaking it must have been especially with the last pup and the poor mum  How can vets like that be allowed to practice  |
My heart goes out to you and your girl..it truly does. On top of everything you are feeling you have to find a way to comfort the mamma that can't understand any of this and you can't explain it to her. You'll really have to watch her state of mind. We went through a very similar situation with my Mom's Brandy, it will take time to heal. Please don't hesitate to try and find comfort here at YT. You can't see us, but know for sure that my thoughts and prayers are with you. If the guy is promising you a puppy, you better get it right away or his urgency to help you will pass. The puppy will not replace any of the lost babies, but it will be a fresh start. I just can't get the words out to try and comfort you, I wish I could know exactly what to say. Sending Love, Julie |
I'm so sorry about your lose! I'm with Pat (yorkierose) That green discharge is a no-no!! You need to change Vets! lily |
