My mom works at Roanoke Elementary, and we will keep our eyes and ears open. I also live in Southlake which is next door PM me if you would like me to do anything. Thanks. |
In our area you can call the local radio stations and they will announce it every so often, and call your local police ours was very helpful when we went through this,,and they are out and about all the time so they can keep an eye out. I hope you find him. |
my prayers are with you and I'm hoping for Nigel's return. It's devastating when a dog goes missing, when I was younger about 12 years ago my Dad let out Moochie (he has since passed away), he was about 12 at the time and going blind, well it was the day before thanksgiving and my dad was meeting osme friends out and forgot to let Moochie back in the house. When we discovered he was missing we spent 12 hours searching the neighborhood and putting up flyers calling, but a lot of places were closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday. But my mom called the vet on that Friday and there happened to be a lady on the other line who was calling in to report he was missing, he actually was only 2 cul-de-sacs over and wondered into someone elses garage when it started raining. So keep going door-to-door, there is a chance he may have just wandered into someone elses yard! |
I know If I lived in you area, I would be there to help 100%. I hope the other Members here that live close will do the same. Please PM me with your email and I will send that info I was talking about. |
We had a friend in Southlake that her male yorkie got out in March, and he ran about a mile to the taco bell. Someone called her and said that they found him and he had a stroke but the people would not take him to the emergency room, or bring him back to her. So we think they stole him, so be careful. I know lots of people that go through Roanoke, and if he was on a major street then he might be miles away, but keep looking and we will be praying for his safe return. I know if CoCo got lost then my family and friends would do anything they could to get her back. Let me know if you want more help. I will go post things around Southlake if you would like. . |
Thats why it's important to place an Amber Alert......It is Nationwide coverage. |
1 Attachment(s) If I was in your area I too would be helping you 100%. Us yorkie people have kind and generous hearts...Ever notice that?:heart to Since I got my Jack...I've met some of the best people, all because he's a Yorkie. I love Yorkie people! They are the most genuine folks on this planet. |

Place an Amber Alert in your Roanoke Times. This seems like an active paper. Please keep us informed and do you mind if I pass this on to my Yorkie Groups. We have a couple of women there from Virginia. Send me your link for missing Zeke...Thankyou I will try to help all the way from New England. |
Yes Amber Alerts are for Missing Children...I said that on my prior post. But you can use them for a missing pet. Your paying for the ad. In most Communities they will allow it under certain circumstances. Thats how my friend found her poodle after missing for 6 months. |

Zekes thread is here, http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=83811 he is Proud Mommy"s pup he has been gone just over a month If you can add anything there that would be great :) Thank you |
Oh no! I will pray for you and the arrival of your little one. Have faith in God!!! |
Prayers going up for you and your furbaby. Please post a reward! I have a friend who got her male back after posting. Some man called and said, "I may have your dog. How much is the reward? My kids are getting attached to him." What a jerK! But she paid him $500 and got her baby back. Money really does talk... Sad but true. :( I hope when I get a chance to check back that there will be great news! |
I'm heart broken for you. I don't know what I can do to help, but if you think of anything just ask. If you just need to talk feel free to PM me anytime. |
I cannot express enough thanks for everyone's support during what is just a horrible time for me and my little boys. I wanted to give a bit more detail about my little Nigel just in case someone might see him! He just turned 1 in May. He is a little bit shaggy right now due to his hair finally growing back! We had to shave him almost to the skin because he was so matted due to gross neglect from his previous owner (can't call that a mommy). He has a silky coat that is more silver than grey, and super shiny. His hair hangs in his eyes because the little stinker won't leave his top knot in! :p He is a whopping 8 pounds and a ball of energy. He has all his teeth (able to save those yippee!). He is unaltered. His nose is a little bit longer than the baby face babies out there, but I love it. His right ear doesn't perk up all the time, so he tends to look a little confused most of the time. I think that if he could talk he would sound just like an annoyed little Scottsman...LOL. No idea why, but if you see him, you will get it! His body is a tiny bit long (or so i've been told) but not out of proportion. I will post an older photo of him when his hair was long so that you can see the color and texture better. Just got back from animal control and no baby Nigel. I broke into tears in the middle of the holding area. All those little guys that are lost and nobody to come looking for them...just broke my heart! :( |
OH NOOOOOOO! not another lost baby! this makes me soooo sad! I wish i could help you in some way. you seem to have done alot already in such a short space of time...i will be thinking and praying for you and his safe return. x |
Just wanted you to know that I am praying for Nigel's return. I cannot imagine how you must feel. Someone close by has to have him...he is such a little guy he could not of gotten far. Having your boys go door to door should help. Does he normally bark when the door bell is rung? If so, that might help....your boys and the nanny could listen for his bark at each house. If someone close by has him ....eventually someone will see him. I will be praying!!! |
My heart goes out to you and poor little Nigel. He must be so scared and trying so hard to find his way back home. I've always felt that "Reward" and "Desperately needs meds" can get a quick reaction if someone is holding him. If not, then he could be so scared he's hiding in a bush or under a porch or car. Anywhere that seems safe to him. Sending prayers for a quick and safe return of your precious Nigel. |
oh no -:( :( :( I'm just seeing this and wish I could help !! have you talked to all the neighbor kids in your area ?? These little guys can cover alot of ground while running so don't limit your search to just nearby - and I'll be praying you get your Nigel home safe and sound - PLEASE keep us posted ok and GOOD LUCK TO YOU !! |
I am praying for the safe return of Nigel also! Im sooo sorry this happened! These little guys can be sooo sneaky and FAST! Please come home Nigel!!!:aimeeyork :animal-pa |
How sad:cry: Why do these little babies love to run away? I tried to train mine to walk and stay with me without a leash, but it never worked! I always have to hang on to them for dear life when out and about. I will be praying for Nigel's safe return to you. Don't give up I'm sure those wonderful YT ladies over there will help you find him. |
And you know, it's so crazy! He has NEVER run away before. Even when I go get the mail, he walks right beside me. He is the most well behaved little boy (unless you leave a headband in the floor!). I simply don't know what could have scared him so bad that he would run..... All the vets in my area have been great! And the apartment complex down the street from my house is posting my flyers in all common areas for us. I never knew there were so many compasionate people left. I am so glad we moved out into the "suburbs" lol |
good luck finding him:( if you recently got him from the other owner, you might want to drive around where he used to live, maybe he got confused and went back |
nigelsmommy, I am so sorry for what you are going through. Just know that everyone here at Yorkie Talk will do whatever we can to help and support you. DaisyMae06 told you about another thread here, concerning Zeke, who has been missing for a month. You should check over there for excellent tips on conducting a search. She also has unbelievable ideas and is VERY knowledgeable on the subject (DaisyMae06, that is). Another good website for lost pets is here. You can plug in you zipcode, breed of dog: http://search.petfinder.com/search/s...location=76262 That will take you to the webpage showing Yorkie males in shelters around your area. |
Oh no, I am so sorry! I will pray for little Nigel's safe return. |
Did you see the post on craigslist for found terrier mix?? They said he looked 100% yorkie but was bigger so they thought he was mix? It's really worth checking into. I tried to look for it for you but craigslist isn't loading over here. |
Prayers are going your way:hands: :hands: :hands: hope he gets found soon:aimeeyork |
