Oh, Pepe mint...I'm so sorry for Maggie and your daughter! Poor both of them. It's encouraging that others have had similar problems and their babies are just fine now. I'm sure it makes you feel so bad seeing little Maggie in discomfort (I felt bad when Max came home after being neutered with a cone on his head and finally had to remove it b/c he looked so pathetic), so I can only imagine the cast. Hopefully, she'll get used to it and the 4 weeks passes quickly for you all! Bless all of you! |
2 Attachment(s) here is a pic of her in her little cast :) I put a red sock over it to keep her from bothering it. as soon as i take the cast off, she starts licking and chewing it. little stinker. she is such a mess right now, really could use a bath. but i guess it will be a while before she gets one. I will just have to use a washcloth and try and keep her cleaned up that way. |
Ohhhh Mandee, Just now seeing this thread. I am so sorry that Maggie has a broken leg, poor lil girl....Sending prayers to her and your family for a speedy recovery.:getwellso Lil Maggie. |
I hope both of your babies are feeling a bit better,i wish your little Maggie a full recovery. |
awww.....what a sad face! Get Well Soon Maggie! |
Oh dear, the poor little thing! I feel so sorry for her. I hope she starts healing real soon so she's not in alot of pain. Awww, makes me wanna cry. Give her a treat and a popcicle!:) |
:getwellso Maggie. |
So sorry to hear about that. I would get an XRAY just to make sure so it doesn't heal uncorrectly. dogs bones heal very fast, i think about a week or two for broken bones. so if its broken and it heals wrong, then you'll need to do surgery to fix it. hope everything is fine though and its not broken |

OH honey... I am sooo very sorry to hear this. We went through this exact same thing close to a year ago, but boy does this bring back some memories. I told you before that I liked your dog's name because that's my daughter's name.... well my Maggie fell down with Pixie when Pixie was about 4 months old. It shattered Pixie's elbow and she had a clean break across 3 toes (reconstructing Pixie's elbow was her first surgery). I was horrified: 4 broken bones. And worse yet was when Maggie realized what happened. She is still heartbroken over it. On the up side, bones heal and hearts mend. Maggie learned a big lesson that day that she still remembers today. Several lessons: #1 being don't touch my dog LOL but she also learned how fragile yorkies and baby dogs really are. She learned that they're really real and have feelings. I know it's rough, but take the opportunity to let your daughter learn :) Some lessons have to be learned the hard way - I wish I'd known how fragile Pixie was before, and she'd never have had to go through a lot that she did. But I learned my lesson, too. Maggie is now overly protective of Pixie. She won't let any of her friends pet her because she's horrified that someone will break her again. I know it's a rough time... and it'll be a stinky one, too :p They do have some spray shampoo that you can bathe your dog without getting her wet. We had gotten some from the pet store while Pixie was in a cast (for almost 4 months). It's not the best stuff in the world, but it helps :D Give your daughter a big hug for me... and let her know that everything's going to be ok. Your Maggie's bone will heal up and she'll keep growing and her fur will grow and she will be able to walk and one day, you'll never be able to see that anything happened :D **big hugs** to you! I'm here if you need me :D |
Ohhhh the poor thing    Hope Maggie and your Daughter will feel better. Heads up Maggie ---- Maya send you a :big_hug: |
That face says it all. Get well soon little one! |
