Oh hes BIG!! Yesterday while at the vet, a man with his wife and LITTLE yorkie asks...how old is he? almost 8 months....Oh hes BIG for 8 months! uh....he was just weighed and hes 3.1 pounds!!!! Im sorry but I really dont get it. I mean how much smaller do people want? I personally hope he gets to atleast 4 pounds. can you believe that 3 pounds is BIG! his puppy was 4 months and small but not much smaller than max....lets hope for that puppies sake he stays small:( |
SERIOUSLY? wow i can imagine what they'd say about my poor 9.5lb yorkie. crazy man |
They'd have had a field day with Susanah! She's 2 days shy of 17 weeks and weighs almost 4 pounds already! |

Personally I feel like puppies come in all sizes just like humans, and no matter what the size their beautiful, loving companions. |
some people are just dumb. :) |

That's sad. Ana's 5 months old and is pushing 6 pounds. Can anyone say teapot? ;) |
People can be so lame. I just love it(insert sarcasm) when someone sees Lola and says "Oh wow, she sure grew". Yep, moron, because when you last saw her she was 11 weeks old, huh, imagine that, she grew up. 3 pounds is TINY, those people are just ridiculous. Think about it, how many babies are born that small? The average human baby is about 7 pounds and they are sooooo little. |
This is so sad. The yorkie "market" has been flooded with these so called "teacups" that are bred the wrong way, have health problems, and are TINY TINY! When people say things like this about my yorkies (4 and 6 lbs.) I usually try and "kill 'em with kindness" and try to be more educational about what size yorkies are supposed to be, and what they're supposed to look like. |
Some people are ignorant when it comes to Yorkie's in general. I surely don't think they are well informed at how many health issues smaller Yorkie's can have. There are alot of people in my area that think there is such a thing as a teacup(which we all know is not true) and are willing to go to extremes to get one. Your boy is a nice healthy weight and dont let anyone put his size down. |
They need to visit an optometrist. |

Just pure ignorance....unfortunately it's rampant. |
Wow - who in the world would think 3.1lbs at 8 months is big? I was at the Houston AKC dog show yesterday. I only saw 5 yorkies and three of them looked to be around 5 or 5.5 lbs. One looked pretty tiny and her handler said she was 4lbs. One even looked to be the exact same size as Lacy (7lbs) and he was 6.5lbs at 9months. These were all show quality yorkies that met the standard. Next time you should ask them if they've ever read the Yorkie standard or seen a show quality yorkie. |

How Sad. My guy is 5 lbs at 6mnths, I can hardly remember when he was just 3 lbs, but I can remember he was tiny. I can't imagine anyone calling 3 lbs BIG! |
Wait til Ozzies person sees this!!! Her baby Ozzie is a big boy and sexy as he can be!!!!!! 3 ounds is tiny dont listen to them.....;) |
Some people tell me how small your yorkie is than mine, or your yorkie is bigger than mine, lol I always say she is perfect FOR US, and above all healthy too and that what is matter:tounge6: |

I don't know about you, but mine are perfect....I don't see a thing wrong with them!! |
I have the same problem BUT... opposite !! When people see my Ricky, the first thing they ask is how old he (he's almost 8 months) and weighs 2.5 lbs., they comment about how small he is AND THEN...you get the really rude people who make comments like...."He's the size of a RAT !!!" Or, ( I love this one) "he's cute but I like real dogs" Which just shows the old saying to be true... " You can't please everyone, so you please yourself" |
Don't worry. My Lilly got to 12 pounds, but she still looks small. I took her for a walk around a small lake by my house, and there was a family with a yorkie boy. When we were passing them, the woman said that my Lilly is FAT ... can you believe it.... I was sooooo upset, and I told her she is not FAT she is just a little bigger then your dog. I was upset because even though she is 12lb. she is still cute and lovable. I'm still trying to figure out how i post her picture next to my name. |

I seriously don't understand people  |
Wow, Baxter is 17 lbs of mine mine mine Yorkie fun, I say mine mine mine cause thats his attitude and I wouldnt trade him for the world! |
I think they want a cricket size dog. One lady asked me why I would buy a large Yorkie. I said because the little ones get mean hyper and break there legs to much. She said she had a sm yorkie and I said Well...then..she turn around and mumble something I really do not believe what I just said.. (the little ones get mean hyper and break there legs to much) But I knew this conversation was going to a rude one with her so I nipped right back I do have my days:rolleyes: |
Wow my Lucy is about 15/16 weeks old and weighs 3.4 pounds already. and I love every bit of her. I hope she's on the larger side personally, so I don't worry about people not seeing her and accidently stepping on her or something. |

At 4 1/2 lbs, I took Gracie in to see my vet. Some ignorant people said, "MY GOD, SHE'S HUGE!" Just gotta shake it off. It's a shame when ignorant people don't even realize how stupid they really are! |
Chloe is 2.2lbs at 8 months & I would LOVE if she'd make it to 3lbs, let alone 4lbs. The vet says she's most likely done growing, though...if anything a few more ounces :xfingers: |
