Puppy Prison Break 4 Attachment(s) Prison Break at the Puppy Prison aka the "Kitchen" On Wednesday, July 18, a prison break occurred at the Puppy Prison in Small Town Mississippi. Background information: Mommy had gone to run some errands and left puppies in the puppy jail cell (the kitchen). Upon arrival at home, she immediately noticed something amiss. This is what she walked in on. Puppies on the back of the sofa looking out the window (in the family room—not the kitchen)! (pic 1--arrival of mom) Using her vast knowledge of crime scene investigations (from watching entirely too many crime dramas on TV), Mommy set out to find what had happened. She immediately noticed the prison cell door (child/puppy gate) was not opened or knocked down. Upon closer inspection, she saw what appeared to be a large, gaping HOLE in the bottom, right hand side of the gate. Someone had eaten his/her way out of the jail cell. (pics 2-4--crime scene photos1-3) Recreating the crime scene was the next order of business. Mommy put the escaped convicts, puppies, back into the kitchen with the gate still up. Using video surveillance, she was immediately able to ascertain who the culprit was that instigated the jailbreak! It was the newbie—Oscar! Mommy’s guess is that Emmy just followed him through the hole! (pics 1-3 next post--video surv1-3) Although Emmy continues to maintain her innocence in the crime, she was captured on surveillance video with her bag packed! (pic 4 next post--Emmy with bag) |

Will they be tried as jeuveniles? Give 'em a break judge! What ya' gonna believe, a lame old gate or your innocent little babies:p |
Juvenile delinquents, maybe! I can't even keep them in one room, now, until I go and buy another gate...any suggestions on what type to buy this time? Do they make them with metal bars!!!! |
I have the kind that's expandable across my front porch and it works really well. It's wooden and fits on hooks on either side. |
we have metal gates (white) that are spring-hinged so you don't have to actually drill them into your wall and they have a door on them as well, we got them at Babies R' Us forget the brand of them but they were like 49.99 and expand across big spaces (oversized doorways) as well. They work great for the puppies as well as children. (I live with my Mom, as I just graduated college and got a new puppy and my sister just had a baby so the gates serve a double purpose in our house) But they work great! |
Thanks for the smile :) you put on my face this morning after reading this post and seeing those adorable pictures of your little escaped convicts! Too cute for words. And the hell of it is...how can you get mad at these little ones? All they have to do is give you the puppy 'eyes' and that's all she wrote! I'm sure you'll find something that you can use to confine your little ones. Good luck! |
That was very cute and entertaining :p |
If you get a metal gate, be sure that the bars aren't too far apart. I bought one and installed it and Sadie got out between the bars just like nothing!!! :( |
that was too cute and funny!!!!!! they narration is great and the pictures are hillarious! I love the one with the bag :D thanks for sharing!!! |
What a cute story! I hope they did not eat any of the gate material. |
They are so cute.. And talk about team work.:D |

:lol tears :eyetearss Awh...Judge, cut them some slack! First time offenders generally always get off easy. Try getting an XPen - They are metal and fold down for easy storage when no longer needed. Thanks for the morning laugh! |
This is HILARIOUS. And the scene is familiar. During Ozzie's kitchen/cell days, we had that EXaCT gate initially -- with the same results. For a long time, I "patched" the holes with old shoe strings (he couldn't chew through those) and then we got a wooden accordian style one at Lowe's. I sprayed bitter stuff on that -- which the wood absorbed -- and he never got very far with it!!! |
Too Cute!!! Good Luck with those little juvies! hahaha |

This is so adorable. I think I will try to get on the jury and make sure lots of hugs and kisses are handed out. My Crystal thinks your Yorkies should start a 'get out of jail' school to give yorkies something to do while they wait for Mom and Dad to come home.:D |
PetSmart has some great gate choices!!! But back to the underlying crime. I believe your juveniles would be tried as adults, Fleeing and Elluding, Criminal Trespass, Criminal Conspiracy, Criminal Mischief. Did you happen to get a saliva sample from the gate? In a case such as that I would ask they be held without bond. Have they retained an attorney? Good luck with your criminals! Too funny and way to go Mom, good detective work, it will definitely help your case! |
Trial was last night and resulted in a hung jury--1  and 1:thumbdown --hubby says a big rat probably ate the hole and the pups were just trying to get away--whatever! The juvvies are having the run of the house now, since I have no way of blocking off rooms! They are loving life!:D I have an alternative plan in action now. Someone posted about their new Doggie Room--and I thought--I have an extra room downstairs that is slowly turning into a junk room. I am already thinking of ways to make it their room--hubby will die, but will get it done because it is for the pups! I would love to have it fixed prior to school starting. Then maybe they will at least like their prison. |
Oh no, that sweet face did that? We don't believe it. It must have been the rats in the house. There's no way sweet Emmy did it. It was a set up |
I agree, they must have been framed. Two sweet faces like that could not commit a jail break.:animal36 |

I love your room idea...humm...maybe we can kick the 20 year old son out to make one?! |
LOL ..That was just to CUTE. Thanks for the laugh this morning...:D I too had the same type gate which mine chewed through too. Wal-Mart does have one that is a little taller, fits a large span and made with wire, found back in the baby section.....;) |
Very cute! What an imagination you have and what a vigorous chewer that little one must be! |
Got that one at Wal-mart. BTW, we do have the larger one also from Wal-mart. I have it blocking off the stairs, so now they have the run of the downstairs. I just talked to my son, who has a 8 month old Daschund. They have a gate from Home Depot. I am going to check it out in the store. I could not find the one they have when I went to Home Depot online. |
LOL! That's hilarious..... I too had the same gate and that's what happened. I ended up finding a really sturdy strong plastic one I think at petsmart. |
Awww, mom! Didn't you even notice that the hole looks like a heart in the pics???? They were just trying to tell you they love you! I think they should be completely exonerated! |
oh Judge mommy, please give them a bit of slack as I am guessing this to be their first offence :D :D :D Besides, they need to be tried and it looks like they are unable to get the best lawyer available . . . thanks for sharing such wonderful pics and story . . . . :) it sure was very entertaining . . . I can't wait for more pictures of what Oscar can do nect :p |
