I hate it that people like Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, and Linsdsey Lohan have yorkies!

I touched on this in another thread but it really makes me angry. YORKIES AREN'T ACCESSORIES! They are not something to be seen toting around like it's the new Louis Vuitton purse!

I think it takes away a certain validity to the breed and to small breeds in general. The people who get these dogs want them to love not just to stick them in their purses. An animal is not a fad to be raved about one season then discarded in the next.

I'm just sick and tired that people because of my age (21) I want to get a yorkie to emulate these pathetic excuses for women.:mad: :mad: :thumbdown :thumbdown

Sometimes you have to let things go in one ear and out the other as my mom use to say!!!:) You took the time to do your research, save your money and now your getting your baby!!! kudos to you!!! You sound like a responsible young lady as you did your homework and know what to expect in taking care of your baby so you are wayyyyyyyyyyyy more responsible than those that just get them for the sake of saying they have one. I have wanted one for over 20yrs !!! and just purchased my yorkie 9 months ago!!! Enjoy your baby and just ignore those who aren't able to do what you are doing!!!

Heck britney can't even take care of her own kids. why in the world would she want a dog. they shouldn't allow her that right.

im not sure about all celebrities but those 3 named. shouldnt have dogs. they party too much. and its not fair to the dogs they dont get the love and attention they need.

me too..i wrote on those threads how sad i feel for the poor puppies that will most likely get neglected...

god dont britney and paris have other dogs to take care of?? its so annoying too... i hate when i dress up princess and ppl say, "oh you're copying paris".. first she did not invent dog clothes, and second i used to say "well she doesnt have a yorkie.." but now she does... god they need to seriously take care of themselves (which obviously they are incapable of) before even getting ANOTHER dog... like i said before, they should stick to something simple like rats or a goldfish...

i like paris hilton soo i have nothing to say about her. but i did write in another post my views on why she has these dogs. She also loves animals. but like i said in the other thread maybe she sees her life different than we do. we see all the glitz and fame. Maybe she has dogs as well as we all do for emotional benefits. Maybe they are her friends that dont judge her on how rich she is or what happens in the news. i dont think we have a right to judge her because we really dont know what goes on in her life. im sure she spends most of her hours at home. but hey we all have our own opinions.

i think they copied everyone else. paris needs to take care of tinkerbell her chihuahua and honestly herself. all 3 are incapable of taking care of themselves they cant stay out of rehab long enough. but always when they come out their like im gonna change.. YEAH RIGHT. where do they go. back to the clubs and the same life that got them there to begin with.

they don't need no pets at all.

yeah i doubt it tho (jmo)... like i said in the other threads i saw her on tv once in her room with at least 6 cages stacked on top and next to each other of lil dogs... i dont think leaving dogs in cages all day is being well taken care of... but o well

i also dont think your a bad dog owner if you go to the club. i mean i dont personally go but i dont think that changes your views on how to take care of a dog.

also paris hilton has tons of money and she is rescuing dogs from shelters and buying them from breeders but its not okay for her to do this but we all say if we had tons of money we would do the same. Of course you would need someone to help you take care of them but im sure she loves her dogs.

but thats also like saying no celebrity should have a dog because their lives are soo busy which is not true. Dogs give people more emotional comfort and can be the best thing in a persons life as we all know but they could fill emotional emptiness in these peoples lifes have friends that they dont have to be a certain person in front of.

I can see your point but I dont understand why you hate it that these guys have yorkies. Here is the way I see it. All three of these ladies really dont know what unconditional love is. With the exception of their families, they dont know if people care about them and love them because they are celebrities or love them for being themselves. Who wouldnt want a yorkie that gives you unconditional love no matter how many times you screw up or fall down. I imagine even with all of the fame and money these girl have, they are very lonely and starved for real love in their lives and we all know how a yorkie can take even the coldest heart and fill it up with love inside. I am sure celebrities feel the same way as most of us feel about their dogs and just want something to love them and be there for them when the rest of the world seems to be crashing in on them.

i pray that is the reason they want yorkies.. or any other dog.. and not just for the "fashion" ..

i agee Catrina. I'm sorry for the comment earlier. about them not having the time because of their party life. i'm just kind of sick of seeing them on tv. and now you see them getting more dogs.
i hope their new babies will give them the much needed love they need and they can get better

I think that Britney is trying so hard to find something that is missing in her life. She's trying so hard with the quick marriages, having kids so fast, and now the pets... I just hope that she doesn't get rid of these new ones like she did with her last dogs.

Please you give them too much credit. They seek out this attention be it negative or positive. They area bunch of self important emotionally stunted over grown children. I am tired of these women representing in someway the morals of my genreation.

If they want that unconditional love so bad why do they leave those dogs at home while they do drugs and get drunk at hollywood clubs? (Not some wild accusation either because it the facts that they are out every night and are doing drugs is well documented)

Lindsey Lohan said in an interview that she got her yorkie because she was hoping that it would give her a reason to stay home at night...and look where she ended up.

These women ( I use that term lightly) are pathetic excuses for dog owners. They buy them at pet stores which shows a lack of general research about dogs. They buy scores of them and don't take care of them (Briney gave away her previous dog Bit Bit) (There are many interviews and pictures that show Paris cages stacked up on top of each other in her house)

I mean if you make excuses for these people you are just being duped into buying their Public relations BS!

paris hilton has rescued some of her dogs from shelters. We only see their lives throught the tv we have no actual clue of what their lives actually consist of. tons of people are dogs owners and go to the clubs for 2 or 3 hours and drink does that make them a bad person?

we have a bar in our garage filled with alcohol and my parents drink all the time but does that mean they dont love our animals? NO we would do anything in the world for our dogs. Im 20 i dont drink but if i did i would still love skoshi the same!

Here's what I don't get when people give them flack: Can't one person have multiple dogs and still take care of them all? A lot of people here have more than one dog, and I've never once heard someone tell someone that they can't care for multiple dogs.

I also don't get why people equate how she SUPPOSEDLY treats her kids, herself, etc. with having dogs. I don't think anyone has the perfect life (including Britney).. and YTers are no different.

i agree! we can tell you anything through the internet but do you really know what happens at our houses? (not saying that Yters treat their dogs bad) but you dont know through a computer or the tv what someones life is really like. You know that these girls go out for 2 or 3 hours at night but do you know how many hours they are at home? They are judge continuously so not matter what they have or are holding at the moment in time some one is gonna say something about it (papparazzi , news) that doesnt mean that the actual person is using them as an accessory just because a person comments on everything they have on them!

I'm sorry but yes it does make you a bad pet owner to go out EVERY NIGHT (Documented) Get Drunk and High (again well documented) and say that you only got a dog so it could motivate you to stay at home.

It is just plain pathetic.

And no I am not passing judgment on people who go out occasionally and have drinks and have a good time.

You wouldn't leave a child to a drunk/drug addict why would you leave a dog???

I am not sticking up for anybody, I just threw out another side to look at instead of jumping to the conclusion that these evil women dont deserve dogs and just buy them to get attention. I have made a few mistakes along the way and would hate it if that disqualified me as being a responsible yorkie owner. I think if making mistakes were a disqualifier then there would be alot of yorkiless homes here on YT and everywhere else for that matter.

its funny that some people who are hating on these celebs for having yorkies as fashion accessories are the ones buying and making their dogs dresses just to make them look cute and like people. Take a look at yourself and your yorkie and realize that you are just as bad as those celebs. And no this is not a bashing towards people who dress up their dogs. Its your dog do what you want, I for one think its kinda stupid but dont sit here and bash paris hilton while your putting on your dogs dress

I agree with OP. these people don't love and care for their dogs, they have other people to do that for them.

They don't have time for a dog, and they don't love anyone or anything but themselves. Look at Paris she wears a shirt with her own picture on it. the walls of her house a covered with pictures of herself. YUK!!

Everything they do is for publicity, including buying dogs, and rescuing dogs from shelters. they carry the dog for attention, not because they love the dog.

I highly doubt that they have ever cleaned sticky poop from their dogs butts, or cleaned up after them, or whiped boggers from their eyes. They probably don't even know what the dogs eat.

I'm not sure your parents would appreciate having that information posted on the internet.

I think Brittany needs to take care of her kids before a dog, but at the same time who knows what kind of therapy this pup will give her. I will be the first one to stick up for Paris. All any of you know is what they put in the media. She has got money even to pay for someone to spoil her baby for her and thas cool. I work in the music industry and know personally of some people who worked with her on her last album, and she was nothing but sweet to them and her dog was well taken care of.

Its like if the people don't meet ur personal standards you all want to "HATE" on them, when u don't know them from Adam.

Don't get mad that these young ladies carry their babies around in their purses or carriers because a lot of you all do as well. Dont get mad because they play dress up with their kids and just to show them off in public cause some of you do as well. Its just that they make the cover of people magazine and you and ur furbaby cant. They may mack a decision to take their baby out because they don't want to leave him or her at home just like we do, its not their fault that the media just has to report it cause its sooooooooo important to us.

You would have a hell of a strong arguement if they found any of Paris's dog abused or mistreated, but the haven't.
I have been to a few red carpet events and if i could have snuck my Ryo in my purse and pulled off wearing high heels while carrying him I sure would have.

Stop worrying about other people who aren't really causing problems and take care of your own. I rather focus on cleaning up puppy mills if i had the time, rather than being jealous of Rich people and their pets

:rolleyes: Look you are completely getting off of the point. No where in my original posting did I say that it was wrong for them to dress them up. However it is wrong that they tote around these dogs like they are some great accessories! I don't think it is wrong to carry your dog in a carrier that looks like a purse. Sometimes it is necessary to do so...and again you will not find in my original post anything that shuns that.

The point of my post was that I am sick and tired of these women giving small breeds a bad name.

I feel sorry for these dogs whom are being raised by self-absorbed drunks/drug addicts. I mean if these women were not celebs and regular women and they went to a breeder to get a puppy they would be turned down. No breeder would put their dogs in homes where the primary care giver is out all night every day!

As for you "knowing" some who knows her, I'm sorry but Paris Hilton is what is wrong with American Culture. She is someone who is hyper-sexualized self-abosrbed , and over indulgent. The media isn't making this person up..because she has set this image of herself.

I agree with you 100% - everytime these celebs get a little dog and drag it around for a few weeks or months - I just cringe ....I know how much young girls want to be like them (even though I have no idea WHY) and it puts an un-natural need in their heads for a tiny dog they just aren't ready to take care of.

One thing is pretty certain, with these celebrities buying yorkies all of a sudden, next year they will be the #1 dog instead of #2.
