Favorite Personality Trait or Quirk... My little Eury is only 4 months old and she already has several traits/quirks that I just love. For example, when I'm talking to her she pauses what she is doing and tilts her head to the side as she looks at me. Totally adorable! She's also a little drama queen. When she goes to the vet and he examines her you would think listening to her heart would be such torture by the way she acts. LOL My husband loves how she yips in her sleep and how when he plays with her she has a little play growl she uses with him. What is your favorite personality trait/quirk of your furbaby? |
Well...I love how dramatic Teddy is. You would think he is the brave one cause he's the biggest but if he gets hurt he lets Everyone know, he screams like a bitc*. LOL London on the other hand doesn't make a sound! I love how she is such a little diva, when she wants something she makes noises from the spot she is in and wants you to go pick her up, or take food TO HER. I just got Sophia Loren but I love how incredibly sweet she is. And last night when she was going to sleep she rolled over so i can rub her belly and while i was doing so she kept putting her paws over her eyes. It was sooo cute!!! |
My Mia smiles when we come back from somewhere, if she is excited, and on command. I have never seen another dog do it, it's hilarious! She also uses it to manipulate. If I am mad at her for some reason, she will smile to try to get me to laugh or be easy on her. I will have to get a video of her doing it. I think I might send it in to America's Funniest Home Videos! :animal36 |
I love to watch Daisy sleeping on her back with her little paws curled up on her chest. I know this sounds crazy but I love to hear Daisy's little bark. She seldom barks but when she does it is like a cute little squeek. If she is really excited and barking up a storm (which hardly ever happens), my husband and I bust out laughing, it is so funny. I love the way Teddy Bear runs when he is happy, with his little head back so proud and tail lifted up high, ears flying straight out behind him. He is a beautiful picture to behold. By the way, Teddy Bear barks enough to count for both dogs. He goes nuts at everything that moves in front of his house. His bark is loud and annoying. lol |
I love how when Sophie sits on my lap, sometimes she will put her face into my chest and lean against me. She just seems to be wanting love.:) I also like how she plays with my husband. Sometimes when he is walking, she is growling and biting at his foot. She will hang on, usually until he gets to the kitchen! :D When he is sitting on the floor, she will back into him and sit super close. |
Yorkies are great fun! I Love how my Berkley cannot lick anything- He bites at it first- and then he figures out that ice cream or peanut butter or whatever can be licked. It is also quite entertaining to put a dab of Cool Whip on his nose and watch him lick it away. He likes it too!!! He enjoys challenges. |
Diggy's is for sure when he licks, he does it SO HARD like with all his mite! His whole head gets into it. He also cannot just jump down he jumps out....looking like a flying squirrel. Out of the 4 Yorkies in our family he is the only one who does it and I dont care who it is that sees it, that crack up and comment on his "Super Dog" jumps. Bella is hilarious with her "boy traits" being such a little Diva Bossy Girl, she hikes her leg, she bucks after going spreading her scent. There she is all dressed in her pinks hiking her leg.....She's a goofball. |
Baxter has been trying to talk to us - I know it sounds wierd - but if we are telling him no- or praising him - he starts - well sort of barking but more like talking - strange sounds -the more we talk - the more he does.:D |

Turbo is awesome! He is great with my girls! But I think the cutest thing he does is when he wants out of his area, he barks and growls. Then when he sees us, he jumps up and down on his hind legs...but he kicks them forward when they are up in the air...and barely get down just in time to land and start all over! Oh, and he loves to torment our cat...which is like Garfield in every way and he just ignores Turbo. |
2 Attachment(s) I just love reading these responses! Yorkies are just such wonderful dogs with big personalities! Here are a couple of pics of my Eury, the first one (a larger image of my avatar) is a pic of Eury tilting her head at me :) and the second one of her wanting to check out the camera while the hubby plays with her LOL. |
My favorite is that she doesn't bark at people when they come into our home. I'm sooooooooo greatful for that! She loves everyone who comes into the home. (She'd probably even like a burglar! ) She loves people and other dogs. She does have particular people she sees occasionally that she especially favors, though. |
Besides of course the way they tilt thier heads when you talk to them. I love the fact that Duke and Gizmo both dream and make sounds when they sleep. I wonder what they dream about.? |
I love it when Mikayla snuggles up to my husband and holds her paw out for him to rub her feet. You can tell she is in heaven when he does it. |
I love when I ask Otis to "speak", he turns his head like he's looking at something else, but keeps his eyes on me. We play back and forth like that. People probably think I have turette's. Turning my head sideways and barking at my dog, and then him doing it back to me!!! :D |
I know this is weirdo, but I just love it when Millie finishes eating she will give a nice burp. That is how I know she is done eating. Sometimes she will come up to me and burp. :D I also love it when she snores. I know she is in a real deep sleep and she is comfortable. Millies snores all the time, too. For such a delicate little flower, she burps, snores and farts like a truck driver. |

JPop has to have his squirrel when we go to bed at night. If I forget to get it, he gets up and whines this pittiful whine until I get up and find it. Once he has it under his blankie with him, he's fine. Squirrel is the only toy he "loves" too, if you know what I mean!:p |
The Sigh Fun thread! Bridget is a total snuggle bug. She’ll cuddle up right next to me, always touching. Dig a bit and turn around a few times to get comfy. When she’s done and settled in, she’ll let out this little sigh. Melts my heart every time. |

Riley watches my every move and stares at me like he's in love...you can almost see little stars in his eyes! He wants to be with me every minute of the day and he's the best snuggler ever. If you softly rub the top of his head he will go to sleep and just fall over in your lap. Riley lets me know if something is boiling or the toaster is done and he'll come get me when the washer or dryer goes off or when the oven timer goes off...that's a trait he learned on his own. Jo-Jo is more independant but he's a thinker...you can almost see the wheels turning when you talk to him. If I ask him where his brother Riley is he will go find him and herd him to me...he keeps him in line! He doesn't snuggle so much but he protects me from 'things' and when he needs me he'll come sit on my feet and make the sweetest little whiney noises until I pick him up. Also, if I have a cup of coffee and I say 'Jo...it's hot' he throws his little head backwards like he's trying to get away...he also does that when he's pitching a fit and stomps his feet at me. |
that's funny. Otis never wants to come in from outside and Oliver will go get him and herd him to me too. How in the world do they know that's exactly what we want them to do?? They amaze me everyday with how smart they are!! |
When I wake up in the morning, Tetley will crawl up onto my chest then snuggle his face into my neck as if to say 'good morning mommy'. Melts my heart. |
Daisy sleeps by her daddy's head at night but when he gets up to go to work she moves over to a certain spot by mommy. We call it her "morning spot". It never fails, she does this like clockwork. She also has a favorite bunny "Mr. Bunny" that she runs and gets whenever we come home from somplace. She always meets us at the door with Mr. Bunny. |
Besides everything they do - one of my favorite things Chanel does (can't get Cheri to do it yet but we're working on it) is... I sit on the floor way on one side of the room ...and hold out my arms - Chanel FLIES across the room and jumps right into them....I LOVE it - she just flies with a huge smile on her face |
When I tallk on the phone, Demi runs to get a chewie. She sits on my lap and chews till I hang up. Then she jumps off my lap and goes about her business. She is alarmed when I sneeze. That rates a concerned look followed by a kiss. I'm often awakened in the middle of the night by a tiny tongue gently licking my nose. I've really enjoyed reading about other quirky Yorkies! |
Archie has a lot of little quirks that I love; here are just a few: 1. He sleeps in his crate most of the night, but usually gets in the bed with me at some time in the late morning. When he's ready to get in bed with mommy, he makes this little demanding, "urrrrrrrr urrrrrrr ..." sound until I let him out. 2. When he's sleepy, he jumps up high on my shoulder and lays down for a snooze. 3. When I'm on the phone, he "performs" the whole time, playing with his toys, pulling back the area rug, attacking his blanket -- and if that doesn't get me off the phone he bites my toes until I hang up! 4. When he gets in bed with me, he has to be under the covers and some part of his body, if only one paw, has to be touching me at all times. 5. He does not kiss, like so many other Yorkies, but he is the world's biggest snuggle bug, always wedinging himself between me and the chair arm or perching on my shoulder or leaying on my feet as he plays with a toy. 6. Right before bedtime, he will begin sucking on his blanket like a baby -- that's my que that it's time to call it a day. |
Marcel does nose-to-nose resuscitation, even though I'm still breathing (he tries to put his entire nose inside of my nose, and then he'll just breathe...probably gross to many of you). Wylie needs his dry food "fluffed" - like if his food has been out all day, he wants me to pick it up, fluff it around, fuss over it, and act excited. He will make progressively loud noises until someone gives him the fluff. At times, he needs 2, even 3 fluffs in a row. My hubby and I will be in bed and Wy starts whining and we both look at each other like "he needs a fluff, it's your turn". Not spoiled at all. |
