I'm in the Central Valley in California and my vet does two different kinds of fecal tests. They do one in the office that is cheap, about $18, but not very accurate. They also do one that is sent to an outside lab and is very accurate and will catch a lot of stuff that would get missed otherwise. The outside lab fecal is $40. I am thinking that maybe your vet sent your fecal sample to an outside lab. But you should ask to be sure. If they did send it to an outside lab, it sounds on the high side, but probably right in line with So Cal prices!:rolleyes: |

When I take Zoe to the Vet. for her wellness exam, the stool specimen is included in the exam. The total exam is no more than $50.00 |

Oh gosh! :eek: I know what you mean about prices! Daisy had a case of diarhea last week (just cleared up today) and I took her to vets' yesterday, the total was 243.67! :eek: :eek: Here's the rundown of the bill: >Sick Visit Level 1 $50.00 >Giardia Snap Test (Stool sample) $30.00 >Flagyl 110MG/ML SUSP 120ML $ 19.95 >Tax (yes, New Jersey Tax) $10.72 ((RE: Tax,, I also had to pick up "Sentinel" $60.50 and "Advantix" $72.50) |
