They just have to STAY in the carrier and NEVER be put on the floor. If they start whining or barking, we would also be asked to leave. (That didn't happen - he was an angel). Different stores have different policies I'm sure, but in this case it was better than leaving him in a hot car. I could have gone home and then gone back to the store, and I would have if the manager hadn't been as agreeable. Most people didn't even notice him. | I took Max into our Walmart once, (it's a SuperCenter, so there IS a grocery area in it) but I was only going to get a heart rate monitor in the sports section and leave. I knew EXACTLY what I wanted, where it was and Max was IN a carrier. I got almost to the sporting good section and a worker stopped me and told me that there was absolutely NO PETS allowed in there and that they AND I could be fined something like $10,000:eek: . I had no idea! I did grab what I wanted and got the heck out of there after luckily, paying at a self-checkout! I don't even try to take him in anymore!
I agree with the comments that if one dog can go in, then so should any other dog...you can't monitor their size or whether you can carry them or not...at some point, I'm sure someone would come in carrying a mastiff. And yeah...think of the mess on the floor....not all dogs are averse to doing their business in a very public place, LOL. |
