Boys.... Do any of you put hair clips or ponys in your boys? I put one in Diggy's because Ada and Bella were getting thiers in and he was scratching at my legs like he was missing out so I picked him up....he sat right there and let me put a ponytail in....he never shook it, pawed at it or anything. He just pranced around like oh yeah, oh yeah got my hair did!! It really made him look like a girl and the kids just laughed and hubby said...oh mo thats not workin. It did work tho...DIggy wore it all day long, now the girls were all messed up by the end of the day but not Diggy's his was still perfect. I dont wanna sent the guy spiralin down in an identity crisis, so was wondering if any of you do your boys hair and if anyone sells boy hair ties like football or basketball ones??? if so can you show me?? |
LOL Diggy is too much. I did see one of YT vendor's selling adorable boy bows with baseball's on them. I thought of getting one for Buddy but his hair does not get in his eyes due to the way he is groomed. Sorry I forget who it was but they were really adorable. If he likes it in I would continue to do it. It must make him feel special. |
Diggy's hair is DID Ohhh he's special alright....lol He's a true legend in his own mind. If I can just get some ideas I am sure I could make some....Im going to run by the craft store and see if I can come up wth anything....If I do and it turns out Ill make ya a few!! Ill go after work and post a pick if I come up with anything! Ill defiantely post a pick of him withhis hair up tho.... Oh his hair doesnt get in his eyes He was just as persistant as he could be that he was missing out. I was shicked how he satthere and let me put it in tho. He sat and stared the whole time I did the girls....he is just a trip. Boys are soooooo different than girls amazes me. |
He's not gonna have an identity crisis! You are so silly. Maybe he's just trying to look "fly" for Livi!!!! I will tell Otie and Ollie not to tease him. He's such a wild man, I can't believe he slowed down long enough to sit still and let you do it. Diggy's a metrosexual!!!!! |

YES boys can where top knots and bows!!!! LOL 3 Attachment(s) I just posted something similer yesterday well actually I posted about Bruizer just now getting used to me putting the top knot in his hair. He used to move around and try to get away from me when I was trying to put it in but as of yesterday after his bath he just laid there and let me put it in. He even laid his head on my lap till I was done! Afterwards he didn't scratch at it or nothing. I was sooooo happy he was finally leaveing it in! I went out to Wally world and to Pet supply Plus and got him a few treats and a couple toys. But here is a pick of him. Now that I am letting his hair grow out he will have a top knot in Daily and I might even have to go buy so MANLY bows. |
Turbo wears his up 98% of the time, if not, he looks like a bearded collie with all the hair in front of his eyes! haha. But usually it is a tiny clip or the soft cloth pony tail holders. |
3 Attachment(s) Most of the time Chewy just wears a plain rubber band (Pic #1). When he does wear a bow, I try to make it masculine (#2 & #3). I just love the look of his face with the hair completely out of his eyes! |
3 Attachment(s) since his first grooming Nathan now allows me to put the top knot in his hair with no problem and i love having his hair back to see his face. it will stay in for a day or two unless he gets real antsy and decides to take it out!!!:) ..when its not done its kinda been trimmed to hang on either side of his face but I like the topknot!! and when we go out I make sure he has on a boyish shirt or sports jersey and most folks know he is a boy!!:D |
I always put one in copper's hair. I love to see those yorkie eyes staring up at me. He likes them too, sits nicely while I do it. Boys like to feel handsome we have hunting and camo bows, football, nascar, Navy all of them I got on ebay he is all boy!!! |
Mojo always has a ponytail because his hair is so long on his face. We will sometimes just clip it back and sometimes he wears bows. I love bows. I have posted TONS of pictures with him in hairbows!!! What else are we with long haired boys to do? We can't have them running around with their hair covering their eyes!!! Besides, I think they look soooooo cute w/ their hair pulled back! |
That's too funny! :) looks like he really want the clip there. Maybe you should try to find boy bows. I know some boys here use them. Bengi just has his bangs :) |
boy do's Alright thats it he is getting boy hair bows. He just loves them. I know he is thinking well, if my sissy's get it I am getting it! Wish he thought this was about baths.....thanks for all the boy hair do pics they all look great! |
I am not allowed to put a top knot on Chewie. My hubby and oldest daughter won't allow it. I think he would be totally adorable in one--just like all the handsome guys pictured in this thread. I'm so depressed. :( |
I dunno. I am SO equal rights about everything and try to be such a well-rounded and open-minded person, that I hate to be guilty of such a double standard, but ... NO BOWS on my boy!:D Ozzie would hate it anyway, but even so. I do, however, keep a very open mind about others doing it. If you like it, great! And so much the better if you have a pup that WANTS it. With our first Yorkie, when we took him to the groomer would always tell them NO BOWS. Sometimes, they did it anyway and poor Scruff, he hated it so much. He would begin slamming his head down to get it off the second he got in the car. :p |
I'm with you Nicole, even masculine bows aren't for my boys. Even if I tried, my boys would roll, rub, fuss til they got them out. I think it's adorable, but my guys refuse to cooperate. |
Okay Nicole and miss poo....so whats that say about my little Diggy Diggelson?? Why does he love is hair did????? lol  |
Yorkie Standard.....boys too! According to the AKC. Standard it doesn't specify that only the females wear the topnots, males as well. Artie wears a ponytail or if we're going some where special it's in a topnot with a bow or a crown barette and I only put masculine colors and designs on him at all times, so it's very clear that he is a "Male". I also braid his tail and put a bow at the end of it that usually coordinate's with his outfit.....yes I dress him too! During the Xmas Season, I put a tiny bell on his tail. I make it a point now to have all 3 (1 male & 2 females) to wear a topnot and I'm growing out all their hair/coats to be long, instead of "Puppy cuts". They seem to look prettier and prance around more? I do all of their Grooming myself, I did it at first to save money but know it's because I don't trust anyone else to do it. So now it's a matter of pride since they represent me! Go Yorkies, Aloha |

1 Attachment(s) I put a little ponytail on teddy cause his hair is so long and i don't want to cut it cause it's cute |
1 Attachment(s) I do Ryo's hair once a day ... no bow. People still think he is a girl when they first meet him. That doesn't bother me.. One time someone asked if he was a girl and another passerby was like most yorkies have long hair so u have to get it out of their face whether they are a boy or a girl!:D Maybe i can figure out a way to make a bow manly like in a bandanna style or lil hat.. I dunno , i think a bandanna would be cool if someone could make it work. |

I put a top knot in Jake's hair once just to keep it out of his eyes. He was having none of that, and he got it out within about 3 secnds. So, we just keep the hair trimmed instead. He doesn't like clothes either, so I don't make him wear them. He just likes to run around naked lol He did, however, seem to like having clothes on when the weather was colder. He would keep his PJs on at night. Otherwise, he takes his clothes off  |
If I ever have a little boy yorkie, his hair will always be in a ponytail - probably mostly with a bow. His bow would probably match whatever outfit I had on him - so mostly blue, red, green, black, etc. If he was wearing a pink shirt, I probably wouldn't put a pink bow in his hair - just a ponytail. I have no problem with having a girly boy but a pink bow might make him look a little too much like a girl. I would want him to wear boy clothes and have boy bows. |
Slade gets a bow in his hair. Mom hates it, but slade isn't her dog so she just has to deal. Strangers think he is a girl, but I don't care. He has a set of sports bows and a set of blues ones and some american ones as well. Most days I just put a plain latex band in. Here are the ones I ordered recently. THe sellers may have more up. Both sellers were fantastic .http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=270117593958 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=320127773762 |
Today our groomer put a top knot on Bernie...as soon as I got him home by bf took it out. No more top knots for Bernie I guess. |
