I hate when people jokingly ask then you say no and they follow up with "can I have a puppy?" Firstly, I am not breeding her. Secondly, if I was, I wouldn't just give a puppy away to some stranger I don't know. I would never give a dog, even a rescue puppy, away to someone I had no idea about. |

I've had this happen with Emma. She is a yorkie jack russel terrier mix and not many people in this area have seen that combination. When she was a puppy I was out walking her with Bentley and she weighed under 3 lbs. An older couple drove by slowing down every time they would pass (they kept going around the block). Finally the man rolled down his window and asked if I would sell her to them. He said he could pay whatever I wanted for her right away. I politely told them that she is NOT for sale. His wife, who had to be in her 50's at least, threw a total hissy fit and started yelling at her husband and at me screaming about how she wanted this dog. I was totally freaked out, so I kept walking and my hubby was with me and told them to leave us alone, and that she wasn't for sale again. Then they asked where we got her, and I told them, but said that they were not breeding anymore.. they had done it a few times and were retiring their two pets and having them fixed. So, then they screeched away in their car, and circled the block a few more times. Some people are just a whole lotta crazy!! |

You know what I hate too?! I hate when a neighbor's four year old kid comes up with their parent to me and my dog on a walk and the kid asks if he can pick up my puppy and the parent just stands there and says nothing! I mean, I don't have a problem with people petting my dog, but he is easily upset and you have to be very gentle and now how to hold him. I mean, could the parent at least say, no honey, he's to fragile/little/whatever.....that makes me so mad! I can't say no because I don't want to hurt the kids feelings or upset the parent, but I don't want the kid dropping/hurting my dog! I mean, what are you even supposed to say there either? Lol, sorry, tooootally off topic there, you just made me think of something that always happend to me in my neighborhood that makes me so angry. But, nobody had ever asked if they could have my actual dog, more like, where did you get him from, how much blah blah, never ending questions. Im just like, look, you can do the research just like I did, it's not that hard. If someone asked to have my dog that wasn't kidding, I think I'd have a fit! Like, are you really serious?! Then I'll take the Benz and your son while I'm at it, right? Jeez! |

At least they ask! I have had 3 kids pick up my Zoey. They pick her up upside down, or by the middle. I almost have a heart attack. I just say "oh, be careful she is very little" and take her away. The stupid parents dont say anything. One of the parents even seemed a little miffed. Like Im supposed to let their kid squeeze my dog like a tube of toothpaste in the middle. One kid picked the dog up 4 times with me telling them no each time. These are not friends of mine. They are neighbors or friends of my mom so I dont feel like I can just "go off" on them, but I get soooooo mad! I dont want to come off like an over protective freak! |

Exactly that's how I feel! Oh, poor little Zoey! I swear, if some little kid hurt my Edan I would be chasing their little tails down the block and back. LoL....and I hate when the parents just stand there and giggle, like, awww how cute little Jack doesn't know how to handle an even littler dog...be careful with Zoey, don't let them pick her up anymore, if I saw them coming, I would just pick her up like I pick my puppy up when I see a big dog coming. |

People use to ask me that about Summer too. Most don't say that about Abigail bc she is larger, but the people who know Abigail love her soo much. Lola hasn't been out as much yet because we have only had her a few or so. |

I always pick up London when we are around kids or dogs. If they ask to hold her I say no nicely whether or not their parents say anything. No kid has ever just tried to pick her up w/o asking but i would hate if that happened |
Only a person without any class or tact would ask somebody that. Sheesh. |
i've never had anyone do that to me! i would look at them like they were nuts if they did! |
I've had several people ask if they can pick Lacy up. I almost always say no to them. I have no problem saying no - if they get upset OH WELL. I would never let a child pick her up. I usually only let my parents, sister, best friend, coworkers (she sees them everyday) and people she knows well pick her up. Otherwise she gets real stiff and nevous if someone holds her. |
