Are there other Yorkies in your neighborhood? While walking in our neighborhood, and just sitting on the porch I have noticed at least 5 other furbabies within 2 streets of our house. What about you? One especially comes walking by with his mom about the same time every day and Giz watches out the window for him. One evening we went outside to meet them. Of course it was a small one and he was afraid of Gizmo (11lbs)..all Gizzard want to do was sniff his but. The lady didn't appreciate it but we tried. :p I think that means "hello" in doggy language. I do hope one day we can adopt a pet for Gizmo to love and play with. |

I live in the country so I never see any out here. I know there are a couple in town, but I've never seen them. Only know about them through my Vet. |
I saw a couple a yorkies around my neighborhood but their owners weren't friendly at all :( At least the ones at the dog park are :) |
There is -- or at least was -- a Silky that lived across the street. And now I know there is Snickers, the little Houdini dog that I got out of traffic a few months ago. One of my neighbors has a chihuahua and the gal behind me has a rabid dachsund. (Dog is forever in ATTACK mode.) :D Other than that, there are a few bigger dogs, but no other Yorkies that I know of. |

I see a lot of Yorkies around here... At least now that I'm not working and walk Pepper often and not in the 'off peak' hours as I was doing before. They are usually bigger than Pepper - who is not your average tiny baby - and they usually hang out in the yards (I've never seen them walking :confused: ) - I pass three just in the distance of 4-5 blocks. I've seen a Yorkie in CVS a couple days ago. And I see Yorkies in the park. It's raining Yorkies sometimes! |
i saw one lost last summer but i don't know where she came from. and the neighbors kids had her so i din't get to ask the owner when they took her home. another African American woman saw me standing outside on day last summer and she stopped her car and asked me if i had seen one lost and to keep her if i did. i wish i could find her... come to think about it it was the same day that i saw the lost one... wonder if that was hers. there aren't very many black folk around here! :D where my sister lives i saw 2 yorkies and they looked just like mine. the little one was a little nippy and the owner didn't really want to talk. i think the little on was a mix with schnauzer though. she was kind of stocky. lady across the street has 2 mini schnauzer but they don't come out much. other than that a lot of big dogs. |
There's only 1 that I know of in my neighborhood. He belongs to an elderly woman that lives in a retirement home up the block. My two get so excited when they see him but he's older and can't be bothered with babies - LOL! |
Neighborhood furbabies. there is one right across the street. His name is Zack. He a lot bigger than Bella and Diggy I'd guess 10-12 pounds. She keeps a really cute boyish cut on him....he is quite handsome. He and Bella have sniffed each other a few times but Bella is more interested in his Zack's brother Mr. St.Bernard. And the next street over there is Bailey. she is a lil one like Bella and comes over ever so often. Bailey likes Diggy and her daddy actually asked if Diggy was bredding standard, he wants to breed Bailey. I said I have no idea and didnt think Id be breeding Diggy unless lots of research was done and I really dont have time to do it. There are a few others but Bella wont let them in her yard. |
None around us!!! :cry: We live way out in the woods on 30acres that border national forest. BUT, I have seen a Yorkie out in a yard of a house on our way into town before. It is an older couple that are always out there working in the flower beds....I may stop one day w/ Mojo and Lily to say hi! |
Our neighbors, across the street, often baby-sit for their daughter's Yorkie. And, one block from us, there is a lady that has two. She is also a real Yorkie lover and showed me her bathroom that is decorated totally Yorkie. Often, when I am driving around the area I will see people walking their Yorkies.:aimeeyork |
Every time we go for a walk, we normally see at least one.. sometimes a few. |
Just thought it would be a neat thread, thanks to you all for posting. It just makes my day when driving home from work and passing these lil' furry one's and their humans. ;) |
