I wouldn't even know where to begin. I only have one and I think he's a hand full. Maybe it isn't as hard as it looks or sound. My husband said he was going to buy me a biewer in August-September, I was excited at first then turned him down because we're building our house and I don't want any accidents and plus I don't know how I can handle two dogs and a 4 year old. But I say you should go for it. You're superwoman!!!! |
If you really want another one, everything will fall into place. |
I had 5 until 2 weeks ago... now I have 4(RIP TBone)... only 2 are yorkies and I love having a "herd".... I dont think I will add another right now but I really love having a houseful.... it is a very happy thing to come home to and I know they never get lonely... d |
We have three and no, it is not more work than two. The more the better. We are having puppies in 19 days, too....we mat have 9 or 10 than!!! |
We just had a new arrival, Bijou, early this week - she's our 3rd. What a joy she is!! :D The other two are still trying to get used to her...Tika has an attitude, but I'm sure she'll be okay (she got this way when Bindi arrived and now they're pals). So far it hasn't been any more work than having just the two - it's the same :p (but truly enjoying it...they're my kids). So go for it! :animal36 :animal36 :animal36 |
I am getting encouraged to get a 3rd. :D I know it will be more work and cost more, but it will also be 3 times the fun. I'm still going to wait a little longer though, Wesley and Maddie aren't even 2 yet. It's just so hard seeing all these pictures of new puppies...it makes me want a "baby" again. :p |

I have to say that two is a comfortable amount for one single person. Like you said, it's easy to scoop them up and out of harm's way if you need to. It's also easier to care for them, walk them, or to let them ride in a doggy-bag. Dog car seats will also work great when they're coupled in it. I have 2 dog carseats so my babies share it coupled with each other and they work fabulous. But trying to squeeze 3 babies into one seat is uncomfortable for them - and that would leave one baby to sit all alone in the second carseat. Three, for one person, may be a crowd. I have 3 (human) family members in my house - me, my mom, and my sister. We all look out for our 5 dogs, but even still, 4 yorkies, who live inside, are a handful! And it can be downright hardwork when you're alone with all of them to manage! I'd consider this carefully. Collecting yorkies can become addicting and you have to realize whether you're doing it because you're still in a comfort zone with getting more, or you're simply trying to get more and more and more puppies because it seems like a good idea at the time. |
At one time had 8 (not all yorkies but small dogs) and really they are no extra trouble. These were all rescues. We are down to just Little Max who hubby bought me for Xmas 2 years ago. I would love to have 3. I look in the for sale all the time. Someday maybe, I pray. |
I have 2 little girls and one boy, I love the three of them dearly and cannot imagine my life without my three babies..but...for me... three is a bit much. Two is perfect because they keep each other company and its actually easier than having one. |

I dont think its much of a difference. I have 5 furbabies total, 3 yorkies and 2 cats. Snuggles was 2 when we got Snitch and when snitch was 5 months we got Spyro, who was also 5 months. Potty training was " interesting" but we wouldn't have it any other way. I did have a hard time at first. I remember posting how stressed i was but i think its was more of the 2 boys being both pups. But once we settled , everything has been great. The boys are so close , they sleep on top of each other. They cry if they are seperated for any reason. Walking , aye , that is something else. I have have to keep snuggles on a seperate leash or she'll drag us all and snitch hops like a grasshopper. We have a big stroller from pet gear, The A3 all terrain, and they all get in and we go off. Vet bills is where I think we feel that we have 5 babies, but if we have to start collecting soda cans so be it..lol.:D . Once you guys develope a system that works for you , everything will run smoothly.. Good luck |
