| New Here buuut... not a yorkie owner!! =) Hi Everyone. So about a month ago, I finally wanted to purchase a puppy. The top 5 choices were toy poodle, a yorkie, a maltese, a sheltie, or a pug. Pug was off the list because of the shedding and the sheltie also and shelties though small, are too big for apartments. Thus, I had three choices left... a maltese, a yorkie, and a red toy poodle. Maltese, though very cute, was crossed off because I did not think I wanted to handle a FULL WHITE COAT esp with tear staining. Thus, there was the yorkie and the toy poodle. I lurked on this forum for hours and maybe days? researching about yorkies. and all of u guys seem so smart BUT i could not find a decent poodle forum!!! i was frustrated. nonetheless, i made an appt to see a yorkie puppy and a toy poodle puppy @ two separate breeders and what can i say? i fell in love with the red toy poodle. He is almost 16 weeks old now. I got him @ 12 weeks. He is pad trained ONLY if he's in an enclosed area like one small room...and he is only 2.7 lbs @ this age right now. So... I was wondering if I can post questions about general puppy care and behavior questions about my toy poodle (name gatsby) or if this is only restricted to yorkies... but all of you guys seem so knowledgeable about EVERY PUPPY! and i would really like future help from you guys. sorry this was a long introduction! but happy sunday!!! |

| When I first was going to get a dog, out on my own, I wanted a poodle or a yorkie. I ended up with one of each and they both came to me without me going to find them.!! Maybe eventually you will get Gatsby a yorkie sibling!!!!! Welcome to YT!! We're glad to have you.

| When we decided to get a pup, I was looking at poodles when hubby saw a yorkie and fell in love (though he won't admit it).
