i know people are against it, BUT... one of my neighbors bought that shock collar and used it only once and on the lowest setting, And it worked. Just one time that her dog got shocked and now NO MORE BARKING !!! Just another option if you are interested.. Please dont jump down my throat about this. Its just an option. |
Ha ha, Pixie got Sugar going! |
Slowly going out of my mind... I would probably go crazy too if mine barked constantly! As it is now, Emmy starts the barking (when she is startled, hears someone outside, hears another dog, etc.) and then Oscar chimes in! He NEVER and I mean NEVER knows what they are barking at...he just does it 'cause his sissy is doing it! Good luck...:p |
OMG...that reminds me of Lola  |

No jumping here.... Her bark won't set those off either... But they do make some that you can controll by remote... one they make just for super tiny dogs, called the "Lap Dog Trainer", sold at PetSmart.... Did not even take the edge off.... She felt it, but could have cared less.... I swear... Pixie has EARNED the term bitch. She just will not be detered. It was my vet, after the visit from Animal Controll, who suggested the collar. They thought it would be a sure fire cure! I wish it had been... lol Drastic situations call for drastic measures! |
so when does she stop or do you just let her bark until she herself decides to stop :p I cannot see her barking at the video, all I see is the YT screen :D |
I just added a second Clip! She's still at it!! lol The dog came back by shortly after I took the first one and renewed her intrest and she is STILL GOING! ugh! lol Even China is cowering under the desk. Chynna really does not like all the noise... I uasully take her into my room and cuddle with her :p |

Thats cause I'm trying to enjoy my YT time lol She's off in the window..... I won't go give her attention when she barks... it just makes it worse... normally when I ignore her she tapers down and stops... She goes for 10 to 30 mins and them stops most of the time... but gets on runs for hours sometimes.... It can get crazy! If I play into it it gets real bad! Hubby getting worked up over it used to make it REALLY bad! But we all ignore it now and it has gotten alot better. I give her treats and tons of attention when she is quite! : ) |
It must be in the name, my Pixie has ths same high pitched bark/squeal. I about died when I first got her. |
Whow, I just opened up the video and my :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :aimeeyork jumped up and starting chiming in. It was a yorkie chorus. Kenzie has a high pitched bark also. With :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :aimeeyork around the barking does at times get irritating. So I feel for ya girl. Pixie looks like such a sweetie though. |
that is brownie i say the same thing all the time people would pay me to take him back !! his bark is deeper but he does that high pitched thing when hes mad !! its awful !! |
She sounds just like Hannah, except Hannah stops barking when I tell her to. Now my maltese Bentley on the other hand is the barker, anytime he hears ANYTHING he wil start yapping. If I say "I hear something"...yap yap yap, he will start that barking. But we are working on that. I feel for you and your family, I know it can get on your nerves. Like you said, I am glad that I have Bentley instead of someone that wouldn't have the patience to deal with his barking...I am afraid that if someone else had him he might be abused.... |
Wow, I thought Ellie was bad. Her bark is high pitched sometimes and lower other times depending on her mood. She barks out the window quite a bit and she hates the vacuum. She barks at it and bites it. It is really annoying but after reading this thread I guess I got it pretty good. I have wanted to get Ellie one of those trainers (from TV) that says no dog is untrainable to prove them wrong.;) It does make you feel like you've gone into insanity though. The only thing that ever works for Ellie when she is barking is to grab her and make her lay on your lap. |
That really makes me appreciate my girls even more. Thank goodness my girls don't bark except to "alert" and they know when I say "Thank you" it's ok to stop barking. I feel for all of you who has insistant barkers I understand it's tough to break the habit. |
Now that got my two going   |
