How many of you have a swimming pool for your baby? Does anyone have a swimming pool for their babies? Do they like it? What kind is it? I bought a small inflatable one today and I will try it tomorrow. I saw one that was a little bigger but still inflatable and it had a slide an toys and animals at Wal-Mart but I decided to get the smaller one first to see if they would like it. Any pictures of your baby in swimming pool??? |
I haven't bought one yet, but I've been thinking about getting Jake a small pool because he seems to enjoy his bath since the weather has been hot here. I've seen several posts from people here who have pools for their yorkies, and they seem to love them.:) |
I have a little hard-sided one (didn't want him popping it) and he's not a HUGE fan of the bath, but he likes to take a step in the pool when it's really hot and then get out. I think he's just getting used to it, and I think it'll be great for July. Definitely worth the whopping $8 I spent on it! |
I have a small plastic one but it's the hard plastic. Spencer is still getting used to it. But he'll walk around in it and drink the water inside so hopefully he will get used to it and swim in it once. :D |
Baby Pool I have thought about getting the tiny little hard sided one, too. We don't have a fenced in area, that is the only drawback. I think the pups would love it, though. |

We are fortunate to have a l6 by 32 inground pool and my girls love it. Alyssa has enjoyed it every summer since we got her. I did not want to rush Emmy into trying swimming. Both girls will walk into the pool on a float and float around. Alyssa tries to bite the balls on the float line. She barks and gets all excited over that. Emmy walked in the pool and got on the float. She was bouncing around on the float and chasing the water as it came up on the float. Finally she bounced too far and fell off the backside of the float. She did not panic but started swimming. I quickly assisted her as I did not want her to panic. She loved it. When I put her out...she immediately jumped right back on the float and was ready to go again. Both of my girls love to swim and beg to go out there each day. It has been so hot and dry in North Georgia that a daily swim is almost necessary for them. |
1 Attachment(s) Last year we had an inflatable baby pool and towards the end of the summer it got a hole in it. Bubba kept trying to bring it to me to say there wasn't any water in it so this year a got them the rigid plastic one and it working out much better. It"s so funny all I have to do is turn on the hose and he jumps in and lays down. Sissy prefers to wait until her pool is prepared properly (princess!) |
I have a little one ring pool for Oliver. He loves it. He even tries to put his face in. Otis is not a fan of the water. I took some pics last weekend but haven't loaded them yet!!!! |
1 Attachment(s) I found my cord, you can't really see it that well. The pool is only about 3 dollars. Well worth it. It was really hot over the weekend. This is my shih-poo Oliver!!!!! |
2 Attachment(s) maggie has a little kiddie pool. she didn't like it at first but we caught her in it a few times :) |
Every year I buy a new medium sized inflatable pool for them. I get a medium sized pool because I have 3 babies. They LOVE it, especially my Tia. :D |
We got a plastic one for Rocky last year, I actually think it's the same on that Pepe Mint posted. It's at my fiance's moms house so we gotta go pick it up. |
We have a kiddie pool thats hard plastic. They all seem to like it, but they sit there sometimes and look at me like they want me to come in and play with them, lol. We also have lots of water toys. |
I wanted to let them swim in theirs today but it is raining....i am not complaining about the rain though we really need it...:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: |
1 Attachment(s) I almost bought one at Walmarts... I'm going to next time.. thank's guys... It was a question I'd had too..Attachment 127094 |

pup and pools are so cute! We have a little inflatable pool too! Some times Bella will get in and walk around, but most of the time she just bobs for balls and barks at them.:D She will kinda paddle the balls to her with her paw while she is leaning over the edge. It is so cute! It was worth the $7.00! |
I had a pool for a couple of years and they wouldn't have anything to do with it so I gave it away. I thought I'd start getting them used to wading around in water in the bathtub first, to see it they would like it first and if so I'll buy them another pool. |
What a great idea!!! I'm getting one for my babies. They have a newly fenced in yard and would love the relief from the heat. What happens when they dry though? Lots of tangles? I blow my girl out after the bath because her hair is so long. |
I keep Ollie short, but even if I didn't, he'd just have to be brushed out later. Fun First, beauty second, I always say...... |
I purchased a small two ring blow up one for Izzie....didn't get any pics but did get a video.... :yelrotflm www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHs_VXXCc6o;) |

i guess i need to get one. looks like lots of fun |
Mine LOVE their pool :) here's my thread on it: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81067 |
Here's another one |
We took our pair to a local park a few weeks ago that had a lake where dogs are allowed to go swimming. Rupert enjoyed it so much that I bought them a little pool for their own. Well, it promptly turned cold and rainy ever since. So far, they have only used it as a giant water bowl! I'm hoping this weekend the sun will stay out and we'll give it a try. |
I have a plastic pool for Max and Abbie. I left it at my parents house last summer so they can use it when we visit. I'm still introducing them to it. Right now they just stand in the water. Abbie seems to like it better than Max, though |
