What does your Yorkie do to get your attention? Eddie 1. Sits and stares with those big adorable eyes until I cave in. 2. Adds a little yelp every minute. 3. Walks around with a toy, daring me to get it. 4. Drops the toy in front of me. 5. In desperation, he starts chewing on my pants leg. Jack 1. Walks up and rubs against my legs. 2. Barks loudly 3. As soon as I look at him, he turns around and backs into me like he expects me to pick him up. |
Hoku: 1. Jumps up and paws at my legs 2. Barks sharply 3. Takes her frustration out on her brother till I have to intervene Kalani: 1. Sits at my feet and stares at me 2. Whines till I look down at him and then backs up to be picked up |
Joey: 1. Either stands with one of his back feet on my foot or he will sit on my feet. 2. As soon as I ask him what he wants he backs up and looks up at me to pick him up. Riley: 1. If he's on my lap he will gently paw my arm until I pat him. 2. If he's on the floor he will either paw my leg to be picked up or he'll stand next to me and make this little 'erf' sound every few seconds until I pick him up...hence his nic-name 'Erfel'. Once he gets my attention he circles around and backs up to be picked up. |

Emma: 1. Comes up on the couch, lays down next to you, and rolls over on her back with a big "sigh!" to get us to rub her belly 2. Stands on our chests while sleeping and licks our faces 3. Follows us, and then does this quick circular dance which means "Follow me!" 4. When we come in from being gone, she knows we won't "greet" her until she calms down because she's SO excited when we get home. She will do her happy dance, and then sit down so pretty with her big brown puppy eyes looking up at us! What's not to love! 5. She "smiles" when she wants food. It's very weird, but we SWEAR she can smile! Milli: 1. JUMPS on us and licks us to death (we're working on this one!) 2. Whines just a little whine, to let us know she's there and she wants attention 3. When jealous that Emma's getting attention, she lets out a great big "ROOO-ROOOOOOOO!" (my husband's favorite!) |
Tilly lifts up one paw just like a pointer dog and stares at me while adding the head tilt. So cute :) |
Rowdy rears up on the chair where I am sitting and paws gently at my leg. Then if that doesn't do the trick he softly does the rrrrrrr sound about every 20 seconds - he doesn't bark until I look at him and say, "What do you want?" Then he lets out a little yip. Rexy just sits and stars at me with those big brown eyes. Both of them will turn around with their butts to me if they think that I am going to pick them up - which I usually do :rolleyes: |
Kiwi continuously paws at you on your arm or face or she will roll on her back and wiggle around onher back-needless to say, she always gets what she wants-we think it is so adorable. |
Max starts out by looking at me with that head tilt. Then he goes to get a toy and rubs it on me. He tries several toys to try to entice me. If he really wants attention, he'll start pawing my leg. After dinner, he starts pacing because he has decided that it's time for us to go on the couch so that we can play, he can rest, chew his bully sticks, play the "cookie game," or nap. Since we eat at around 6:00, I think beginning my evening on the couch at 6:30 -7:00 is way too early! He then falls asleep right near me until he guilts me into going inside. He's like a husband! |
Reece stares at me and if I dare look his way...he lets out a low rumble and then a bark...and then he "talks" to me until I pay him attention!! It really does sound as though hes talking though...strangest little sounds!! Dawn |
Lacy: 1. Nudges me with her nose 2. Starts pawing at my legs almost like she is stretching 3. If those don't work, she pushes off of my legs with her front paws and barks |
Scruffles: Picks his Booda Alligator puffer ball up and nudges it into my leg with his nose. Then, he continues to do it again and again until I notice him and throw the ball. Sometimes he simply stares at the ball and then turns his eyes on me. He repeats this ritual over and over again until I finally throw the ball.:animal36 It's really quite funny.:D |
Sadie will: 1) paw my arm until I do what she wants 2) Scratch my couch which she knows gets her in instant trouble 3) throw a temper tantrum (kicking her feet out) |
What do our yorkies do to get our attention?? why nothing at all, because they have our attention 24/7! our world revolves around them...haha.... and i'll bet yours does too!!!!:D |
Hobbs: 1. Sits and stares at me. 2. If I get up to pick him up, he runs to whatever he wants. 3. If I ignore him after he's been staring at me for awhile, he'll growl, then he'll throw in a little yap. 4. If we're in bed, he'll slit on my chest and scratch and "sneeze" until I get up. Hootie: 1. Stares at me and when I go to pick her up, she runs to whatever she wants 2. If we're in bed, she wakes me up my sitting on my check and scratching or licking my ear until I get up. |
Hannah first starts by staring at me and if I ignore her she will growl and then bark and she usually does this if I am eating something she wants a bite of or if I am cooking. Sometimes she will dig on my feet. |
Simon: Spits his ball at me regardless of what I'm doing. Then he Barks at Me Then he SCREAMS at Me Last resort: Shove the ball unders something and proceed to shred everthing in his way (I call it his artwork). Hallie: Scratches my legs, face, arms, whatever she can get too If I'm sitting on the couch she will jump on my shoulders and stare at me Rolls over and cries for a bellyrub Now, if they want attention from each other it becomes a yorkie smackdown. Hallie will chew on Simon's legs, growl at him, jump on his head. If Simon wants attention he grabs her favorite toys out of the toybox and takes off to the bedroom :) |
Sunnie will just get in my face and reach up with her foot and rip my lips off with her nails. Rocky & Maggie just jump up and down like a couple of yo yo's. |
Tucker: -follows me around and gets underfoot -walks over the top of my feet when I'm at the stove or sink -performs his two commands unasked "sit" and "down" and waits expectantly -does a quiet little growl -paws at my legs and if I continue to ignore him he does one of two things 1) yells at me with a very high-pitched bark or 2) squats on the carpet, looks over his shoulder, and pees!! :eek: :thumbdown |
It depends on what he wants... First thing in the morning...while we're still in bed...he'll stand up shake, thud he jumps off the bed, then a very quiet "ERF", he wants outside. To play, always brings a toy, stands there with the toy in his mouth...and waits. To eat, he just stares...and waits for his food. But the cutest thing he does...while holding him on my chest, gently rubbing his ears...if I stop, even for a second...he'll pat me with his paws...on my face. It is adorable, like he's saying "do this some more". |
Maddie: 1. Barks 2. "Talks" (she does this sort of growl thing. but it sounds like she's almost kind of singing. haha. it's hard to explain!) Tucker: 1. Stares at you 2. Barks 3. Sits on your feet 4. Run like a psychopath 5. [if he's hungry] he picks up his bowl and brings it to you Rusty: 1. Stare at you with sad eyes 2. Bark 3. Put his head in your lap 4. Pick up something he isn't supposed to have and hold it in front of you 5. Run in circles 6. Nudge your arm (so it's sitting on his head) 7. "suck" on your hand. (He licks your hand, put he's kind of sucking on it too) that's about it. :D |
If I am at the puter, Gracie will put her front paws up on my legs and "scratch". If I am on the couch, she comes running up and jumps up on my shoulder, then she lays on her back and gets "frisky". |

If I'm sitting at computer, Sadie jumps up and down constantly until she gets my attention - or chews on my bare toes. If we're in bed in the morning and she wakes up first - she licks my face constantly - even when I try to hide it under the sheet - until I can't take it anymore and have to get up. :p :p |
In the morning, he will watch from his playpen until he sees me stirring. He will wait a couple of minutes for me to sit up and look at him. Then, he will sit back and put his front paws in the air and give a tiny yip to get my attention. If I am on the computer or something, he likes to lick the top of my foot (I'm usually barefoot) or use his paws to bat at my foot. If I am watching TV and he can't get to my feet, he runs and sits under the TV and does that cute little sad eyes thing and the head tilt. |
Princess either does the usual whine and/or bark OR.. sits and stares.. if i ignore her, she scoots out farther away and sits and stares.. if i still ignore her, she go to the front of the television, and sits and stares... haha then eventually i give in :p |
Usually I'm on YT when Alphy tries to get mine. boing boing boing he's like a mexican jumping bean trying to get up on my lap. He'll do it until I pick him up. :D |

Chachi jumps in your lap. If I am sitting at the computer chair Jewels will get on her hind legs and puts her paws on the chair. She also does this when you are on the toilet. If I am laying down she jumps up on me and licks my face |
