Ewwww....Dog Germs!! Ok, so I know some of you will say this is gross, but are you oblivious and immune to "dog germs"? I find that I'm guilty of this a lot when it's just my husband and I around. I try to be more conscious of it when I have company, or I'm at someone's house, and in public places...and of course when I'm cooking/cleaning something for someone else. For example: Do you let your Yorkie drink out of your cup, and then you keep on drinking it? Do you share your popsicle with your Yorkie? (one lick for you, one for them, one for you, one for them) Do they give kisses-all over your face? Do you pick them up or pet them, and then continue doing whatever task you were working on, without washing your hands? (putting on makeup, cooking, cleaning, etc.) Does your Yorkie put his or her butt right on your pillow, and you sleep right there anyway? Please share your stories-I bet there will be some doozies! |

Never heard of dog germs! ;) All of those apply to me and more. My Annie-Belle even took baths with me. She HAD to. She was scared to take them by herself. (that's my story and I'm sticking to it) She also wanted to be a dentist when she grew up and so would therefore examine my teeth - with her tongue. ~Graleyne |

Jake has a thing for licking my nose. When I tell him to give me kisses, that's what he does. In the mornings, he wakes me up by giving me kisses all over my face. I love it!:) He sleeps with hubby and me, and his butt is always on my pillow at some point during the night....but, his butt seems to be in my face alot, so what's the difference? lol |
I am guilty of all of the above. No one thinks it is "gross" anymore, they are all use to it! |

OHHHH YEAHHHH i DO ALL THOSE x2 I have 2 babies so its 2x's the licks of my icecream I have one on each side going at it...when I am giving fruit or veggies as treats Bella snubs sometimes she just has moods...she will chew em up and spit em out and I will eat them.....(bet I got a few ewwws then lol) I have never even thought of washing my hands after handling my babies....I do for other dogs but not mine. Bellas favorite place to sit was on my head front paws on the pillow....yep I was a place to rest her butt. when I have a jolly rancher (just cherry) i will stick ot out of my mouth a lil and she licks it 3-4 times I know its not good for her but 3-4 licks cant be that bad. I do that for diggy now too. :D I have taken a bath with bella too my sister sat and waited for her to be done to blow dry her....she likes that right away she gets cold...:( lol and last but not least If she poops outside and it gets stuck in her hair....YES I will bare hand it and pull it out for her she will not move and is petrified if there is one lil poop ball on her ....I admit I do wash my hands after that though..... |

My baby doesn't just lick my nose, he enjoys lodging his narrow little tongue up there, and he's so fast that even if I didn't want him to I wouldn't be able to react in time. Sweet little guy I just love him! I too, am guilty of all of those things, but he's my baby and he can do whatever he wants cuz he's perfect!! haha |

LOL, I love this one..I just woke up to both of mine having a 15 minute licking session all over my face and when the girls spend the night,(Dori and Maggie) I have four, if anyone walked in the BR, they would think they all four were performing doggy CPR...teehee.... We share one ice cream cone, food off of my fork, drinking out of my glass, sleeping on my pillow, yes with little butts all over where my face lays..they are just as clean as I am. I do try and be more conscientious with company if they arrive and don't partake immediately with our greeting system...(tolerating at least 5 licks in the mouth):D We've been practicing the "Yorkie Way" for 3 1/2 years and haven't gotten sick once;) Just think of it as strengthening ones immune system....Yorkie vitamens |
I found out that my husband puts our Yorkie on the dining room table to attach her leash. He doesn't like to bend over to do it.;) |

Guilty! My hubby and I are so guilty of all of this! I will say I have always been this way but before getting Meeka my hubby never had a dog so he never understood me. To him a dog was a DOG! It took him about one day to find out Yorkies are not DOGS. So I tried to contain myself so that I didnt gross him out, but he was the one that started let her eat after him and drink his drink! Oh and Meeka gives me kisses when I get home for about 2 mins but when daniel gets there she goes to town for like 10 mins! I love it! Daniel lets her lick candy and then he pops it in his mouth all the time! |

Guilty as charged Oh yeah! This is great to hear! Im not the only one! I am guilty of petting while cooking and not washing hands (only if the food is for me only), oh yeah, and grooming/haircuts on the counter (I wash it after)! Letting them lick popsicles, ice cream that Im eating, and drinking out of my cup. I also have one that sleeps under the covers and one that sleeps on the pillow too! What is funny about that is I hate going to bed with dirty feet, I think its gross (yes my friends make fun of me) so I wash my feet before I go to bed everyday... yet I let my dog who probably stepped in his own poop go under the covers and sleep there all night! :D :D :D Ive had to take them into the shower while Im showering to clean them. Ive had to pull poop off with bare hands (definate scrubber after that). I think nothing of scraping off eye gunk with my fingernails either. What I TRY not to allow is too many facial kisses! I am having skin problems for the first time in my life and Im afraid its from little tounges going to town... so ive cut back on letting them bathe my entire face! But they always kiss me right on the lips!!! Its soo funny! :D |

good question... Actually, I have been wondering about this for a while now..Is it possible for our babies to ''spread'' or ''carry'' germs (i.e., flu virus, cold, etc).. for instance, if my friend is sick and my Daisy manages to ''kiss'' her and then later on ''kisses'' me, will she then transfer the germs to me? also, can my Daisy catch it and get sick too? ..just wondering... |
Haha I don't even know what dog germs are. I share everything with my babies, assuming it won't harm them of course. From popsicles, to fruit, to pieces of bread or chicken. I try not to let my family or fiance see me sharing my ice cream or drinks with them, as they would say "EWW THAT'S GROSS"..lol...but kisses we all share all the time. I also take bubble baths with my babies. When I'm in a bubble bath, sometimes they just jump in with me :p and we splash around in there together. It's fun..hehe. Good thing I'm not the only "GROSS AND CRAZY" one here..lol |
