1 Attachment(s) Bella's color IS very beautiful!! I had the same dilemma, Jake is dark but when I look at his coloring I don't see gold or tan it looks almost coppery to me... I don't know what to call him... |

Here is a good description of the colors for Yorkshire Terriers: http://ytca.org/education2.html Your beautiful Bella may be a little on the dark golden tan side, leaning to ginger but she may still lighten. Females (especially those that are bred) often continue to lighten as they age -- both on the blue/black areas and the tan/gold. When asked what color she is -- I'd answer either Blue and Gold or Black and Gold -- I can't see her dark areas well enough to tell. You could add that she does have a rich hue and you hope she keeps it as she ages. She truly is a beauty! |

Sorry, I can't help with the official AKC color, but in my books she is the color "beautiful". |
I call the color copper. I know it's not a listed color in their coloring but that's what I call it. Buddy's hair on his head is the same color. It's a rich golden blonde however blonde just dosen't really do it for me. I like copper:p She is beautiful by the way. |
very cute face...hard to see the pictures for the coloring |
she has the deep golden tan i am looking for in a male...kekek.. |
I agree with the colour copper. I'm not sure if that is the official name for it (or even if the AKC has a name for it). what a beauty! |

Thank you for your pst about Bella!!! Acoording to the site you posted they say it shouldnt be a "setter red" like an Irish Setter! Hers is! lol I dont care at all she is not for show just my lil baby :D The QUALITY of gold on the ideal Yorkie can be likened to a NEW GOLD COIN. It bears no semblance to a rust, ginger or brownish mahogany hue. It does not appear to be a solid, unshaded orangey red nor the red of an Irish setter (setter red). Yorkies carrying a woolly or cottony black coat usually carry a pale, weak unshaded tan and are referred to as a “black and tan” (Yorkie). CORRECT SKULL SHAPE ALMOND SHAPED EYES SMALL PRICK EARS GOOD EAR SET I think she flunks the small prick ear test too lol shes my bat girl!!! :D |
