If this is the owner I hope and pray that they did not cause mistreatment to this dog. Don't let anyone make you feel bad about a haircut, hair can grow back, you made the best decision and again, alot of people would not have even rescued the dog like you did..You did the right thing. |
So ... what happened? Were the people you thought the actual owners? |
Yes what happened where they the owners and what did they say to you about finding him and about cutting his hair. I hope they did not give you a hard time they should be glad you picked him up he could have been dead by now by a car. |
Bless your heart. You're a wonderful person, and so are your children. I know you want to to get him home, but I'm kind of hoping those are not his people. It doesn't sound as though he was well-treated - in fact, abused is more like it. Maybe there's a reason for him being so messy and dirty. I hope so. |
Ok well.. It was her dog but she was not 50 she was much older and could barely get around. She has a 50 yr old daughter and some grankids living with her. They didnt even know what the dog looked like and had to go back and get her. I explained to them that they needed to help her keep the dog up not jsut food, bathing , nails teeth and etc. The older lady was devastated and will probably try to make sure he is in the house., I know he smells a ton better. I showed them where his nails had grown through the skin on his back feet and there are permanent piercings there now.I apologized for the shoddybhaircut but explained that his eyes ( this was not from a week of matting this was old old old and had deep sores on the sides of his muzzle infection was setting in and when the heat of the summer hit it would have been a breeding ground for maggots that is just how thick the mat was) needed to be wiped under. She said she has a hard time so I said I would periodically check in and bathe him for her and clip his nails as well as take him to the groomers when need be. I hope they keep him close to them as he loves them and missed them dearly. I know where they live now so I can keep an eye out for him Bon |

What a nice ending for all. Hopefully Bon you educated her enough to care for her pet. He certainly seemed to love them but all they need from time to time is a pat on the head to love anyone. Animals are so innocent. Your a special person to do what you did. Hats off to you. |
