Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | ![]() Okay, Diggy will be 13 weeks on Tuesday. I have had him since he was 8 weeks and fought with feeding him everyday. I have home cooked, tried 4 different kibbles, basically fed him ANYTHING I could get him to eat being he has seizures if he doesnt eat and blood sugar gets low. I really push his kibble in hopes he gets all the proper nutrition. The only food he will eat is Innova Evo. Is this nutritious enuff for my baby?? I know is real high in protein but he has had bile acid test and blood test his liver is perfect. So should I be concerned about the high protein? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. ![]()

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | ![]() to be honest If I were you and that's the only food he'll eat I'd feed it to him - as long as it's NOT on the recall list ....you can ask your vet if it's nutritionally good for him |

| ![]() if it is all you can get in him... do it.. but you might want to try giving him snacks during the day like yogurt or apples or carrotts... |

| ![]() I have had good luck with bits of cheese, carrots, cottage cheese, and a small bit of egg white (from a boiled egg).

| ![]() Anything is better than nothing. Question though. Others on here with babies that have blood sugar problems talk about Nutrical. Do you give Diggy Nutrical?

| ![]() Hey paranoia Paula, It's the other Paranoia Paula... It sounds like you found out for sure it's his sugar that is causing the seizures. I bet you feel a little better knowing it's not his liver or something worse. I agree with the others about "if that's all he'll eat, then let him eat it". As long as his liver tests stay normal, I wouldn't think there would be a problem.

| ![]() I'd say that the fact that he's eating is the most important thing. Ask for your vets advice, and maybe keep trying to track down a better food, but for now keep feeding the Innova Evo. Good luck!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | ![]() Innova Evo is an excellent food. It is high in protein - but - interestingly, alot of holistic vets/homecookers use higher protein (in the 40 % range). To balance, what if you feed some white rice w/ the kibble? That would bring the % of protein, per serving, down - you could do 2/3 kibble and 1/3 grain and that should help in bringing down the high protein. If you're concerned about his nutrition, you could also add a multi-vitamin, some Missing Link. And, since you know he's prone to hypo, are you giving him Nutrical between meals? He's really young - I'd suggest a pea size Nutrical immed. after he wakes in a.m., between meals (if you can), and def. before bed. I'd also try to feed him every 3-4 hours given his age and hypo tendencies.
