Don't Worry! Don't Worry......Yorkie's take their own sweet time adjusting and females are more tempermental? I have had a male Yorkie for a year, and a couple of months ago we got a female for my husband because he was so jealous that I was so close to my male! It took a while and I was very worried at first that she wouldn't bond and fit in! I was having a hard time training her too! But now she is just as affectionate and lovable as my male, even more so I think. She is more clingy and more of a Lap dog or I should say Baby. Artie was jealous at first, but I think now he understands that she needs to be comforted. She is very close to me now, it did take 2 months to build the relationship, but now it seems like she belongs with us. Plus the 2 of your dogs are still establishing hiarchy, who is alpha betwee them etc.? As long as you are Alpha to both of them? Be Patient and Good Luck! I've bred and raised Pitbulls and Rottweilers. Yorkie's are by far the most Intelligent, Complex, Dramatic, Affectionate and Emotional Breed. It's a good thing they can't talk! |
Just like people, they all have their own personalities but I think she will become a little lovebug eventually. My male is more indeoendent than my female, but he loves to cuddle and he sleeps more than she does so he is ready to cuddle sooner in the evening and he loves to sleep in. She has a higher metabolism and doesn't require as much sleep. |
Bella doesn't always like to be cuddled and held either. She has her moments and is getting better the older she gets (she is 4 1/2 mons old). They just like the freedom to explore and do things on their own. I am sure it will get better it is for us! |
Of course she loves you.... And before to very long you too will know the joy of owning a velcro dog! Because both of my girls are midgets, I didn't get them from the breeder until they were somewhat older than the norm. Maggie was about 16 weeks, and Molly was right at 22 weeks old. While Maggie IMMEDIATELY bonded, Molly took at least three or so weeks to turn into a love sponge! It happens. I agree. It's all about them having so much of a whole new world to explore! She'll soon figure out that you're ever so much more exciting than all that is going on elsewhere in the house. Then you'll not be able to get rid of her! |
Give it a little more time. Just think how Lana feels...the only one for 1 year and then this new one comes along and takes some of the attention away! It is probably very similar to a couple with just a dog that decide to have a baby. The dog will naturally be jealous. Wouldn't you? Just make sure to give extra attention to Lana...she needs to know that she is loved and isn't going any where from her family! |
