I Got Sucker Stamped On My Forehead Okay yall can laugh all you want. I know that most of you can relate to this. Little Miss Maggie, (the con artist) sleeps in her crate in our bedroom. Last night she woke up at 12:30 to go PP. That was about normal for her. Put her back in her crate, after a trip to the yard. I heard her kicking the crate door, making cute little sighs, until 1:30. I got up, took her back outside and she PP'd again. While going back to our bedroom, she layed her head on my shoulder. I thought that was so cute. I put her IN BED WITH US. I woke up to find she was sound asleep on MY PILLOWS, her feet in my hair and my head was on the mattress. I got up at 5 to use the bathroom. Came back to bed, but couldn't find her. I thought OH CRAP. I finally found her on husband's side of the bed, taking over his pillows. When I looked in the mirror this morning, all I saw was dark circles under my eyes and the word SUCKER across my forehead. |
That is so sweet! How cute! My Korey does that to me. I just don't have the heart to wake him up or move him because it is just too precious! |
Hee hee hee.... that is how Tino ended up sleeping in our bed all night, every night! Now he resides in the little space right in between our pillows at the top of the bed! I think this must be in THEIR "how to" puppy handbook.. "How to get to sleep in the human's bed......" Look really cute and act like you are sleeping... the looking cute part is imperative bc a human will never put a cute sleeping puppy back in the crate!" |
LMAO !! Yup - you now no longer have a bed that you can call your own. It's her bed now...Say it once more....Maggies BED.....lol...aren't they such BED HOGS ? |
What a cute story! Pebbles during the day takes a nap with me but she usually will sleep on one of the corners of the bed. |
Isn't it amazing how much of a bed a little puppy can take up? Simon and Hallie have a King size bed they LET me sleep in ;) |

My bed sits high too so I took a suitcase, put a pillow on top of it and they go up and down that way! Guess I'm on Maggie's side on this one ;) haha Just trying to make her life easier ;) |

You know all of this is kinda funny. My last child is now 37. I haven't had one thing out of place for many years. Now our house looks like a messy daycare center, and we don't care. My son can't believe I let Maggie get by with so much, when he never could. I told him, he wasn't as cute as Maggie was when he was little. |

im not laughing you sound like me we got sparky and my husband and i agreed that he wasnt going to sleep with us the 1st night he cried the whole night now hes in the bed with us lol!!! |
I guess I'm your twin...sucker right across the forehead! Tucker has been so good going into his crate, he cried only a minute and then settled right down. Of course he got up every 3 hours to pee. So, last night he goes to bed, right to sleep. An hour later BOOM! A thunder storm. He woke up and instead of yapping to get out just let out this pathetic little cry with every clap of thunder. It took maybe 3 times for me to take him out and bring him into my bed. He cuddled right up and fell asleep. I woke up to him chewing on my hair this morning! But, he slept through the night!!!!!!! If that's all it takes, he can have his little section of bed. (even if he takes his out of the middle) Poor hubby between the two of us he'll have to take the couch. But, at least Tucker doesn't snore!! |
Oh, you are no sucker, i think it's adorable!!! I think my favorite times are snuggling with Schatzie in the bed...She's just so darn sweet and lovable all sleepy eyed in the am.... You know Maggie is always gonna want your pillow now next to you, LOL :D |
Aww, such a cute story... But umm, as any Yorkie parent can tell ya, once they sleep on YOUR bed, it automagically starts becoming THEIR bed!!! And oh yeah, no matter how big your bed may be, you'll be amazed how a little Yorkie can take over the entire bed... ;) |
It is amazing to me how much of EVERYTHING little puppies take up. If you need an example about that which I speak--LOOK AT THIS FORUM!!!!! LOL |
Oh my gosh, that sounds so much like my household. I made it two months without Maggie sleeping with us. At least she's 98% housebroken. I can only knock on wood, that she won't pee on my pillows. As far as hubby. You hit the nail right on the head. I punched him all night long, for snoring. I don't know if it's because I wanted to get some sleep, or because I didn't want his snoring to wake up Maggie. If it takes sleeping with us for me to get a full nights sleep, then I too will be happy to share the bed. Two months of getting up every night has taken it's toll. When I have to get up, it takes me a couple of hours to go back to sleep. That's usually when I play catch up on YT. :clock: |
Well, I think that we all are in the same boat! They do take over the bed, no doubt about it. It's really hilarious with three, they all have their spots but they switch sometime during the night. It is soooooo much fun for me, trying to get out of the bed, so I could go to the bathroom without waking them up  Life with Yorkies, I wouldn't have it any other way!... |
I must be the slowest of learners, first of all kiko came with his own owners manual, it said I DO SLEEP IN THE BIGGEST BED,so I put him in bed with us, then got koki, she came with instructions also, but hers said I ONLY SLEEP WITH OTHER YORKIES AND IF HUMANS ARE THERE THEY BETTER MOVE OVER....now we do mind the hairy dictators and we love it, just call us puppy whipped |
Aw.. I fondly recall when my Rusty slept with us. From night one, he lay across my neck like a necklace, slept on top of his pet Dad's head, slept between us, slept in my arms, slept at the foot of the bed..... NOW, for some unknown reason in his Yorkie Manual, he has decided that he does NOT want to sleep in the people bed. Last night he curled up on the couch in the living room and slept there. I never know where he will sleep these days! He has slept in every room except the bathroom! He gets really cranky because we won't go to bed at 9 p.m., so finds his own place to sleep. One morning last week he was curled up in the dirty clothes basket! This puzzles us because I thought once in the people bed, they would not leave??? I miss him being in the people bed. |
:eyetearss That is so funny!!! |

Mine have always slept with me and my hubby in our queen sized bed. I love their little cuddly bodies. I take them out right before bedtime, and they sleep 8 hrs or as long as I want to sleep, and they have never had an accident! :p |
Jojo takes it to the next level and burrows under the covers and snores! I was embarrassed to admit that he slept with me. But now I probably wouldn't get a sound night's sleep if he wasn't there. :grin2: :grin2: |
and.... do they let you know when it is time to go to bed?? Buckeye tells me when it is time to get off the puter and go to bed! id he needs to go out he paws at me and takes me to the stairs to go down to the door. if he wants to go to bed (which he will not go by himself) he paws at me and takes me to the bed. it is his way of telling me to get off of the puter. |
:eyetearss Sounds like you are in good company with that stamp on your head. I lthink we all have one. |
Hmm, hmm, hmm(this is a chuckle) I got y'all beat!!! I was too lazy to make bottles for my newborn babies so I breast fed. I took them to bed with me so I could whip it out and into their little mouths and fall back asleep while they ate. LOL Yorkies(5) don't own our bed they just take up the most room. If I have to go to the bathroom (3 feet from the bed) they just look up and watch and wait for me to return. When I get up in the morning and go to the bathroom most of them will come in with me or sit on the foot of the bed waiting for me to come back out. After it gets light, I might brush my hair which means mom is going to go somewhere and if they aren't watching I might be able to sneak out of the bedroom and then the door. LOL When I go back in the bedroom there is Pirogue ROLLING around on MY side of the bed. I don't know if he's trying to get warm or to pick up my smell on his hair or even if he's trying to cover up my smell with his. Oh, shoot, I just thot of something! He gets up on the bed(I really believe it's him) and pees, do you suppose he's trying to assert his status as Alpha male? He knows I'm the Alpha of the house but maybe he doesn't see my hubby as the Alpha male? LOL LOL Do you suppose that's what he's doing rolling on my side of the bed? Marking my smell with his trying to tell hubby that I belong to him? LOL I'm going to have to think on this some! If this is true, Lacijo rolls on hubby's side of the bed!! I'm going to have to watch that girl, I guess!!! |
Great stories, I haven't slept by myself in 20 years, always had a furbaby in bed with me, or should I say they have let me sleep with them. |
What a good mom, and pretty soon she'll have you and your hubby to sleep in the crate, so she can have the whole crate to herself. :eyetearss All kidding aside they are to cute, and it's hard to make them move when they look so cute. |
