YIKES! So it could be worms? I am so confused? So, should I call the vet, or wait it out? |
I took a bag of, oh I'm just gonna say it, Poop to the vet once. I am just about positive he didn't really check it because it was in the exact same place looking the exact same as when they first took it from me. When I was paying the bill and leaving I said, "Did you check the stoole sample?" and they were like "Oh, yea, it was clear". I didn't believe they checked it. Now days, I would try and think of another question to make sure they did. If your pup does have worms, it isn't necessarily "ICK", it actually is very natural. It just can't be left unattended. Look at your puppies gums....are they a nice pink or a little to pale and on the "white" side. Pale to white is a sign of worms. If so, take a sample back to the vet. You don't have to take the puppy and won't (well, you shouldn't) be charge an office visit fee. Call first and find out. Good luck. |
Well I called my Vet and she said that his poop was fine and it was probably likely the anal glands. She told me since he is rarely doing it that I should be okay to wait to get it checked out at our vet appointment in 2 weeks. But she did say if it becomes more frequent she'd really like me to bring him in. So for now I am just keeping an eye on him. Thanks for all the replies, Meg |
Mine had this problem too when he was around 10 weeks. I wouldn't do anything yet. Stomper doesn't do it anymore. I also think at 10 weeks he would have #2 left a little bit on his behind. Now that is not so much a problem! |
