Aaaah sweet Papi! I have had computer problems the past few days and have not been able to log on until last night, and then only briefly. Then today, I see your latest posts. I wish I had been here to say Happy Father's Day to our adopted Papi-Papa. I wish my precious Daddy had been here to witness the marvel of your story, the outpouring of love your words generated from your very first post all those weeks ago. Be proud Papi for what you have inspired with your words, that came from the very depths of your heart. Their effect on us all had nothing to do with your level of education sweet Papi. No amount of degrees that create words from a cold heart could generate the result that your words did. The effect of your writing produced something profound because of where they came from, and that is the sweetness of your spirit, your very soul, that emanates such love, and such kindness. It shines through Papi, in every word you write, whether it be about Kassie, or baby Patticake or your "family" here on Yorkie Talk. Thank you Papi, for telling us so much about yourself. It makes you even more precious in our eyes. And thank you for your honesty about your own Father. It reminds me once again, especially after an empty, sad Father's Day (for me), how precious my memories are of my own Dad, what an enormous gift he was in my life. It reminds me that each and every memory I have of him, is like a beautiful, perfect picture, that I can marvel at, when the missing of him never goes away. The way you are Papi, the way you express yourself, your outpouring of love you give so freely, whether it be to us here on YT, or your precious dogs, reminds me of him. There are so many people in this world today that think it is somehow beneath their dignity to talk openly of love for a fellow human being. If there were more people like you Papi, the world would be a far warmer place. It amazes me truly, the astute foresight you have into other people's hearts, the empathy you have for their endeavors. When you described looking into Lori and Bre's car before you left Elaine, I cried at your words - that you could actually, truly "see" that their journey was so much more than just a drive of many miles. The way you describe Elaine's family, after having met them only once, that is the perception of a true "scholar", dear Papi. Don't you see - formal education could never have taught you this wonderful lesson you seem to have learned, all on your own, along your life's journey. I am proud Papi, to call you my friend; I am proud to be able to say with love to you - "Happy Father's Day". (even if it's a day late). Please Papi, continue to tell us stories of yourself and Patticakes. We are ALL always enthralled, somehow, by your words, which seem to pour from your heart. With so much love, Lauren:hearts-xx |
Adventures With Patticake Does this sound like a good title for your new thread, Papi? Whatever you decide, I hope you include Patticake in the title so we can all find it. I think the General Discussion section where this thread has resided all these weeks would be ideal. THANK YOU for those bath photos. She is such a cute little girl, even soaking wet.:) |
Oops! Forgot to ad one more thing! I just love, love, love your pictures of Patticake, especially with the little "bubbles" of Patticake "speech". What a happy little girl she must be, to have a forever home with someone like you!:) I treasure the description of you lying there that first night with that warm little bundle cuddled up to you, how you must have felt as you closed your eyes...... no longer alone.:littleang |
Deucy and I THANK YOU Oh, Papi, Deucy LOVES these pictures of his little girl (as I do!). We sit here and look at them over and over. Deucy's turns his head and tries to lick the pictures. We also print them out and hang them on our fridge. Our hearts are still aching as Patticake and Baker's Man are the only babies from my Deucy. We look forward to pictures and watching them grow into beautiful yorkies...they just can't help it...it's in their blood. Yes......Patticake is very smart...too smart if you ask me, Baker is too. They get that from BOTH parents. Have you seen their mother, Sadie Ann? If not, let me know and I will send you the link to her in TX. Patticake is growing up to look JUST LIKE HER and Baker is growing up to look JUST LIKE Deucy. I mean........eerie...like twins!!!! We hope you had a wonderful Father's Day! It was a tough one for me, but I will be with my dad again someday. Lots of love and hugs Deucy and Brenda Quote:

Papi, I love reading your posts and to be honest this is the one thread that I intentionally check out just to see if you have added any more chapters to your story. It is funny because people get new puppies all of the time but for some reason I sit here and cant wait to hear what you did with Patticake each day and to hear your words and how you describe the feelings you have for her. You are such a sweet person and that is why everyone hear wants to hear about your stories. Because they truely care about you and want you to be happy with your new little girl. Your happiness and the joy Patticakes brings to you spreads a light within each and every one of us as we read your tales and it warms our heart just to be on the outside listening in. I too, lost my father a couple years ago and he was also a "transportation engineer as is my husband and numerous family members and they were and have been truck drivers all of their working lives. They loved driving a truck and would say the road was in their blood. They wouldnt have chosen another job I dont think. You did what you needed to do to provide for your family as my father did and who can ask for more than that? There are alot of children out there that cant say the same as I am sure you know from hearing your story about your father. Dont feel like you have to explain anything. We love you for being the person you are and those mistakes you may have made as a teenager and the time in the military along with the many miles out on the road have made you into that wonderful person that has touched each and every one of our lives like no one here ever has. I am glad you and Patticake have found each other and are so happy together even if she does leave you little presents now and again.;) |
Hi Papi, Your pictures of Patticake in the bath are so adorable. Seems she took her bathtime okay. Tell her, all the boy Yorkies have their hearts open to her. She is a beauty in any setting. Happy Belated Father's Day ... you are the quintessential "daddy" ... Debbie |
PattiCake The Toddler Years Papi, So happy to see you posting pictures of PC she is too cute in her bubble bath. I am so glad to see the both of you so happy together. Jay :) |
How about calling the new thread "From Patticake with Love" or "Patticakes Happy Tails"??? Winston says Patticake is a keeper, and that he loves her wet or dry...And I have to agree with my boy!!! If a new thread is started, be sure to mention it on this thread...I'm so afraid I'll miss it...I miss so many, no matter how hard I try to keep up...But I always check in here first!!! I'll keep trying to think of an appropriate title of a new thread...I THINK I NEED LAURENS HELP...But whatever it is called I just know I'm going to love reading each and every word...if I can find it that is!!! Love to you Papi, Hugs to Patticake and always, Special Prayers to Kassie!!! |

Hi Papi and PattiCake Papi it was very nice talking with you today. Wonderful to hear all the happy times you both are having together. Papi, thank you for reading the poem today to me, I so wish everyone could have heard you read it. The joy in your voice and your jubilance when you talked about PattiCake was just really special. Little PattiCake was definately meant to be with her Papi. I haven't been able to read postings or see the pictures that you posted in the thread here, but am looking forward to the day when I will be able to come and read all the postings in this HAPPY thread, view the pictures that you said you have posted and the others as well. One more time to post Papi Train HAPPY Train poem and now I can hear you reading it :) this is the HAPPIEST poem I have ever written. God Bless everyone that had a hand in this very happy life happening, through each and everyones prayers, this came to be a reality. With God leading from the very beginning, it was meant to be. Many happy and blessed years Papi with you and PattiCake together. Love and hugs to everyone, Jack and Patti Papi Train, HAPPY Train Papi train, HAPPY train we've traveled far, Across the USA to where we are. From my birthplace in Kansas, from my Mommies loving arms, Lori, Bre and I traveled beautiful country, and seen many farms. My farm left in Kansas was so special you see, My Brenda Mommie she'll always be. We met so many people at Elaines, oh what a delight, Snuggling, cozying up with little Bre at night. My forever home in this life with Papi is a new start, I'll be his shadow, we'll not be apart. God placed me here for one reason I know, Being Papi's PattiCake will make his face glow. Oh what fun is in store today, Oh my goodness, we'll romp and play. No more sadness on Papi's face, All because of the love from the human race. I promise my Brenda Mommie, right from the start, Forever to remember her love, she will remain in my heart. Thank you God for the travels afar, You are MY HERO and My BRIGHT GUIDING STAR. Please guide and protect Lori and Bre on their way, Back home to Nebraska across this Great USA, I pray. Poem Written by me Patti, June 3rd, 2007 This poem is dedicated in honoring each and all that had a part in the Papi Train Happy Train. |
I got chills ... and now I'm tearing up. (Good thing people at work know I have a sinus infection, so that won't be questioned!):D WHAT A BEAUTIFUL POEM, Patti! I hope someone is passing all the wonderful news along to you. Also, thoughts and prayers continue in abundance for you and Jack. With the possible exception of the holiday drive we do each year at the office and being a maid of honor for my dear friend last year, I don't remember the last time that anything has touched my heart as deeply as the Patticake Train. And, it has also really replenished my faith in the human race as a whole. Because I can NEVER think of a time where I've seen so much love and affection from so many people all over the world. If my baby HAD to be ill, I'm just glad it was what helped lead me to this site.:) |
