No Longer a Member | ![]() Chloe, the little turd, thought last night it would be fun if she barked her little head off all night. What is up with that?! She NEVER does this...never. She hasn't made a peep in the night since the first three days we brought her home as a puppy. The first time, it was around midnite. I was all confused and asked my husband, "is that Chloe barking?" (She sleeps in her crate downstairs.) So down I went, got her out--thinking maybe she had to poop or something because she ate late--took her outside to potty (she wouldn't poop). Then I put her back in the crate. About an hour later, she started that high pitch shrill barking again. I told her to hush, and she started it up again about an hour later. Then when my husband got up to go to work, after he took her out and put her back, like he always does, she started that barking up again. I am so tired. I don't know what is up with that little brat, but this better not be a new "thing" for her. ARRRRGGGHHH! My husband asked, maybe she's still in heat. Surely she is not. It has been 24 days. And if this was part of heat, wouldn't she have done this back when she really needed a man, several days ago? ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| ![]() I'm a first time yorkie owner and we went through a similar thing with Tia...for the first couple of months she had no problem sleeping in her crate in the living room on the main floor of the house. we thought this would be best for potty training her. Randomly one night she would not stop barking. I let her out to potty (although by this point she could hold it through the night)....nothing. Check if there was a weird noise or something....nothing. After a couple of days we decided to let her sleep in her comfy bed in a corner of our bedroom, not crated. Worked like a charm! She no longer barks at night, and is now potty trained perfectly on the second floor as well as the first (except for the odd pooping issue ![]()

| ![]() Maybe you have some unwanted "guests" bumping around in the walls or maybe Chloe is sensing the presence of some dear departed soul that is returning for a visit. You never know. |

| ![]() I have never had a problem with my yorkie sleeping... even when we first got him. My thoughts would be that she is barking because she wants to be close to you. If you dont want her sleeping on the bed, Oliver loves his playpen. We just put a couple of pillows in there and blankets and a stuffed animal goes in there every night he sleeps in there. You could try that. |

No Longer a Member | ![]() Sleeping in the bed IS NOT going to happen. She is crate trained and loves her crate. Cindy, that was creepy, LOL ![]() She's been perfect for the 6 months we have had her. I can't understand why she's all of sudden barking in the night. I'm hoping it is a one time thing and doesn't become a habit. That is why I'm wondering if it is possible she is still in heat...after 24 days??!! ![]() ![]() From what I could tell, there were no outside noises going on or anything out of the ordinary. She is usually a sound sleeper, and sleeps all night without incident. |

| ![]() I don't know why she is barking but I think it might help if she got to sleep in the same room as a person. She might just be bored and lonely. Ellie used to bark quite a bit at night until we figured out why. She was seeing herself in a mirror. ![]()

| ![]() Misty - sorry honey that you are sleep deprived. We had a similar incident a while back with our old girl, Spanky. She started barking in the middle of the night like a Yorkie possessed. Hate to tell you what it was..... the grossest, ugliest LIZARD ![]() ![]() Anyhooooooo....... hope I did not gross you out toooo much, but please do check all surrounding areas next to Chloe, for all creepy crawlies and associated little critters. ![]() ![]() |
