| Do adult yorkies still play??? Autumn being my first yorkie, I am wondering when they are older do they still like to play as much? I have had pugs for the last 11 years and once they are over 2yrs or so I found that they are not much of a player and more of a couch (actually floor) potato. Every once in a blue moon my pug will run and play fetch but it is not often. Autumn (still being a puppy - actually 8 months today yipee!!!) still loves to play and fetch and chase. So I am curious is this something that stays with the breed or am I looking at another lump on my area rug! |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Ozzie will be 10 next month and he LOVES to play. In fact, I bought him a three pack of squeaky toys last night. Gave him one when I got home and he had the squeaker broken in about 5 minutes the little varmit! He tires out a lot faster these days, but he still will run and run and run until sometimes I just make him stop because he's breathing too hard. What I really love are when he plays by himself. He starts pitching the toy and then will try to catch it. He's not very good at it, but he gets points for trying! |

| My older yorkies always played. Not as much as the younger ones but they love to play. I would imagine it depends on whether or not there is someone to play with. |

| Snuggles is 4 years old and she like to play alot. the boys are both almost 2 year olds and they love to play alot as well. It depends the mood you are in and once they are a lil older they can sense if you wanna play or not. At least mine do, but im a big so there is always barking in my house.

| Well I sure HOPE so! Mickey is such a great player!! He is so good at it. Fetch is his favorite game! I have so much fun with him. I would be sad if he stopped playing.... I don't think he will though!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | OMG Chanel is 5 and you can't get the toys away from her - she's a maniac and LOVES to play. Everything excites her and playing is one of her favorite pass times -especially NEW toys - she goes nuts over them and it doesn't matter what kind of toy - they're ALL big fun |

| My daughter & sil say their Yorkie doesn't like to play at 7 yrs old but if I tease him & such, he will play with me. I really think they are so busy with kids & such, they just don't play with him. Or maybe he just senses they would rather he just sit on the couch with them than make a lot of noise. |

| It all depends on the individual....I have one that is 4 and plays like a pup and one that is almost 2 and has never played like a pup. When he does, it is a treat to watch and doesn't last long at all. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Most of mine really settled down after 2 years of age. But Pixie I have a feeling will be the exception. She is a ball of fire.

| Playful Chelsea Chelsea is 2 yrs, 5 months, and she is VERY playful. Her favorite toys are the stuffies, but I dont allow her to have them, since she goes for the tag, then pulls out the stuffing. Her favorite toy is her "BABY" a black golf club cover. No tag nor stuffing, a safe toy. My DH was cleaning out his golf gear, a few months ago, and she adopted one ever since. She can be fast asleep, dreaming about her BABY, (I guess) and will wake up and dart for it. If you ignore her, she brings BABY and puts it in your lap, hands, and even face, until she gets your attention. Or she just plays alone with it, pouncing on it, shaking it, or just simply carrying in around in her mouth. I had three poodles before Chelsea, and they were never this playful, even when young. I think this is just a very active and playful, not to mention mischevious, breed. WHEN Chelsea wants to play...WE PLAY! Hugs!

| When Diesel was a puppy he was always sleeping! I was really scared he was sleeping to much. He really didn't play much at all. For a while I thought something might be wrong. Now that he is older(2) he plays and acts just like a puppy! It is the funniest thing. He is really playful now.

| Well about an hour ago we had the Indianapolis 500 here with a 6 year old yorkie and a 5 year old maltese! And might I add...after 3 knees surgeries between them...I love every minute of watching them have a great time!
