| He seems so sad!!!! I came home from work today, and Paddington barely got up to greet me I tried to take him outside like I usually do when I get home from work, and instead of chasing me around the yard like a hyper maniac, he just layed down at the bottom of the steps where I put him. He won't play, won't even get excited for treats OR his rubber duckies.... He doesn't seem sick; he is still eating well. He just seems mopey and sad!!! Should I be worried and take him to a vet??? I have an appointment for Saturday morning already; should I take him asap??? We went to the groomer this morning for a bath and a nail trim, and he was terrified by it. I could hear him all the way in the front crying during his bath. But all they were doing was bathing him, so I figured no big deal, they aren't being rough or hurting him, he's just being a baby and he'll get used to it... I think he is still scared. But also my brother brought over his dog yesterday at the picnic, and I know he misses being with his brothers and sisters too, so maybe he is just sad about being alone again??? He was alone when I came in; my mom and grandma must have stepped out to the store. I just don't know what is the matter I gave him some nutrical with his dinner.... He is usually so hyper this time of day -O

| I think you're right, he might just be lonely. Sometimes when I come home, Wobie isn't very excited to see me, he gives me a kiss and then kind of ignores me. But he is always excited to go outside and play with my mom's big dogs, and that always makes him feel better. Maybe you should schedule more playdates with your brother's dog...

| He could still be just leftover tired from playing and being bathed, etc. I took my first one to the vet on the Monday after company, and he was just pooped. |

| I agree, he's probably worn out from the bath and groomer's. Jake hates going to the vet, and he's always so worn out from it when we get home. I think the stress of it makes them tired. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Awwww....he cries in the bath ? He may be still upset and a little traumatized - I'd spend some really good time with him and just hold him.....I hope he's ok. I don't know if I could stand hearing mine cry in the groomers ...I'd probably grab them and run ....I bet it upset him that's all. |

| I would agree, that the grooming experience can make them appear sad. My Maltese has been going to the same groomer sinces she was 6 months old, every 5 weeks, (she is 11.5 yrs old) and she still gives me the "why did you do that to me mommy" look the rest of the day after that and she sulks. And my groomer is fantastic and treats my babies wonderful and lovingly. I think if you are real concerned though or suspect otherwise, you should never be hessitant to consult your vet.

| LOL it is just first time mommy worries, I think! He is running around crazy now like usual. He perked right up when my mom and grandma came home. We went for a trip to the store and he saw some kids... My mom said that he was awake all day and that they kept him busy so he was probably exhausted. I think being lonely was part of it too. He is a very social dog, and hates any time alone. I'll ask my brother to bring Heidi (his puppy) more often, but I'm also going to look into something like doggie daycare. I'm so silly! -O
