| this one patch of hair so, maggie has this one strip of hair that is really short. it has not been cut. It is just not growing with the rest of it. it sticks out like a sore thumb because the rest of her hair is growing long and silky and parts down the middle and lays really good. but this one patch just before her back hips, on the very top of her back, is short. any suggestions???

| no, i dont think it is allergies, unless I am missing something. she isn't itchy at all, she is not losing hair anywhere and the hair is there and not thin, just not growing as fast as the rest. it has grown, but a LOT slower than the rest.

| lola too lola has that too! omg! I posted about this with no answers before, I'm so glad somebody else posted about this! So, lola has two small patches on her side (flank) right before her back legs. it's strange. It looks like another dog's hair. It's dark, almost black, fine, and straight. Totally NOT like everywhere else? I keep forgetting to mention it to the vet when we go... so weird. I wonder what it is? Each patch of hair is roughly 2" by 2". I really have no clue!! |

| Are you sure she did not bite it off previously due to itching or something? If they do this the new hair often comes in much darker. Sometimes they do this when they are in their crates at night or when we don't see them. That is usually the cause of short hair in spots, at least in my experience.
