Hello, I was wondering how many only have 1... :D Hello, everyone! I was wondering how many people only have 1 little yorkie that they spoil rotten? I am going to get my 1st yorkie girl, possibly this weekend. And I only want one to love and spoil and take everywhere. I was wondering who else is like this? I know everyone says they are addictive, and you can't have just one. But she is the only dog I want for now. I find it easier to take care of one. I had three at one time, but it was so difficult. Three dogs not yorkies. Just thought I would ask.:animal36 Mary Lowe West Virginia |
I only have 1 yorkie. He is a handful though :D |
One Yorkie Hi, I only have one yorkie, My little Bella the light of my life. I spoil her rotten but if I was to do it all over again I would have 2. They need playmates. Bella is 4 now and had a traumatic experience with a black lab and has issues with other dogs now. I think that they need a friend and I am still looking to add another little girl to my home. I think it would have been easier to start with 2 as all the house training is done at once. I used to feel the way you do only wanting one to take everywhere with me but that is not always possible. You can't take them into some stores and I know here you can't take them into grocery stores. So a little friend for when she is home is a good thing. I am on a waiting list with a breeder on N.Yarmouth one of her pups should have a litter this winter. I am very excited about it. Congratulations on your new little furbaby. I have 2. I had my yorkie first, and sometimes... when his brother is driving him crazy...jumping on him and biting his ears, he wishes he was still an "only dog" but seriously, they love each other. |

my thoughts exactly!!! romeo is alot of dog in that cute little body but i do plan on getting a little girl if not next year then the following year - i want to give a chance to mature a little first!:D i can't wait to have a little lady. |
I only have one yorkie but I also have a pug. If I did not have the pug I would have two yorkies!:aimeeyork :aimeeyork |
I only have one yorkie and I love to spoil her but would love to get her a sister when I find the right one:D |
I only have one Yorkie, and 4 cats. The house is busy enough. But when the oldest cat goes over the bridge, I suspect my Yorkie will have a new sister soon after! For now, I enjoy spoiling Gracie rotten. I can't imagine 2 fighting for one of my shoulders to sleep on! |
I only have one Yorkie. If I had to do it over again, I would probably want two. Ellie is so jealous over any other dog coming near us now because she thinks she owns us. I wonder if it would've been a little bit easier if she was raised with another dog. The vet bills are lots cheaper with only one though. :) |
I have one. She demands all my attention. I feel bad leaving her alone all day when I'm at work then have to come home to dinner, cleaning, etc. On top of that trying to keep a social life and leaving her alone again. I'm thinking about getting another one, but I don't know yet. |
When I got Sadie last Summer, I only intended to have one Yorkie - as I had never had two dogs at same time before. But.... believe it when people tell you that Yorkies are addictive. I'm currently looking for a little sister for Sadie!!! :p :p |
I only have one, my baby boy Kobi. I love him to pieces and spoil him rotten, and I had only ever wanted one dog..... HOWEVER, I've recently been talking about getting another one:p (and I've only had him for a few months)...I'm starting to believe the potato chip thing...you can't just have one... I think he may need a buddy to play with since he does love to play, but he's also a handful, so who knows.......we'll see I guess!!! Good luck with your baby! |
Just One Yorkie I have just one Yorkie. Princess, almost 6 months old , just under 3 pounds and 1 old cat. I do not want another Yorkie----these 2 are enough for a Grandma to keep up with. LOL:) :) :aimeeyork :animal-pa West Monroe, Louisiana |

My Snickers is my only Yorkie but I also have a strictly-outdoor dog and cat. Snickers is the only one in the house. I wouldn't want another one just for the fact that I do not have the time. I love him dearly but at 8 months he is still not completely housebroken. I love spoiling and playing with him. He snuggles between me and my husband in bed every night. He is spoiled rotten. Congratulations on geting your new addition! |
I only have one boy now, but in 12 days I'll have a little girl to spoil too. I can't wait. Now they can keep each other company and entertain me and my husband. Let the fun begin.;) |
At the moment I only have one and he is spoiled rotten. I have a 5 bedroom house and only one son so that leaves me with 3 extrea bedrooms and Buttercup has now occupied one bedroom. There was a time when I rescued two from this lady who abused them and couldn't take care of them because they demand so much attention and I felt that my son and my current furbaby was enough. I gave one to my sister and the other died a couple of days later. They are addictive but demans a lot, I mean A LOT, of time and attention. |
At first I only had one and wanted a girl but I ended up getting Teddy, my baby. I still wanted my girl though and I got her so now I have 2 and only 3 months younger than Teddy. They are certainly addictive and although some people can't handle 2 or more I think it's great for them to have atleast one partner so they won't be alone while you're at work or out. Mine love each other like bro and sis and I can't imagine life without both of them...and I still want more :D |
I have only one for now. Maybe in a year I'm planning on having a baby, so I don't think it's a good idea. I would love to get another one; because a lot of people here have more than one, and they make you want to have more! But I think it will be wise to wait... |
Tatum is our only Yorkie.... and I prefer it that way. I know I'm in the minority but she gets all of our attention. We do also have an Aussie, Stormie, that is strictly outdoors and gets all of my husband's attention because he's outside so much. We also have two outdoor very fat lazy cats so Tatum has plenty of sisters (yes, ALL girls ;) ) to play with when she goes out, which is quite often. |
Just 1 Ozzie is it. Only Yorkie and only dog of any breed. He has two cat brothers, both strays. So he's the "middle child.":D |
Ellie is a only Yorkie.I plan to keep it like that.We do have two other dogs that she plays with but she is my baby. Now that it is just me and my husband it helps fill the empty nest syndrome.I have had two, three and four yorkies at once which is great when you are busy, they can amuse themselves.Ellie is my baby to love, spoil and pamper and you can guarantee that where ever I am she is not far behind. |
We have only one yorkie, but we also have a maltese. I think it's nice for them to have a playmate :) |
I have one baby Royce who is spoiled rotten . I would love to get him a brother or a sister but I don't know how he will react to that ( when I start giving the new puppy some attention ) |
Gypsy is my one and only. While I would love to have another one, health wise (me) I am better with just one. She is my baby. Jim and I spoil her rotten. She does have a fur nephew (another yorkie) she plays with sometimes that lives next door. My daughter's. |
Hi! I only have one, his name is Jake, and he is like the perfect little dog for me. I love spoiling him and he's such a mommy's boy, and I love it! I really would like to have 1 or 2 more, but hubby doesn't want to right now. He thinks that it would upset Jake if my attention was on another one. Eventually, I'm going to get another one but, for now, Jake is enough for me. He has brought me so much joy and is the sweetest little guy I've ever seen.:) I hope your little one brings you just as much joy! |
My Wobie's an only child. He has several aunts and uncles that he plays with on a daily basis, but when it comes down to it, I have only one baby. No other dogs, cats, or anything. I'm all his!!! :D |
Max is an only child at the moment, but I'm going to begin looking for a little girl after the summer. He only has me and if I'm busy (like now, on the computer), around the house, or I go out, he just sleeps. He really needs a sister to play with. I always feel guilty if he sleeps too much because I'm busy. |
just one Maxwell is my only. Before Maxwell, we had a yorkie for 12 years as an only, except for a sweet outside 90 pounder. We travel and sail and one little fella seems just right for us. I think onlies are the exception, not the rule. I only had one kid, too, for that matter -- it seemed a lot easier. I could see if I didn't travel, I'd have 2 or three. They are so much fun. |
Chester is my ooly yorkie and he is so spoiled, I just spent 71.00 at the dog store today for treats, bones, wet and dry food, he is the love of my life. I take him almost every where I go |
