Thank you everyone for wishing us luck. Her eyes and the scracthing are because of allergies, I wish the ears were allergies too, but it's not. SAhe has a bad infection, and needs drops for basically the rest of her life, or ear ear canal will close up, and she will get an infection in her brain and most likely die if this happens. I know it could have been worse, but I'm still in tears. She's my baby:cry:

Oh, I'm sorry to hear your little one is under the weather. Hopefully the drops will work quickly and she can get some relief. What are you supposed to do for the allergies?

He gave her a shot to stop the itching and some kind of medicine called Atopica.

So sorry to hear this...hope she gets well soon.

I guess this is what I get for falling in love with a pet shop puppy. Lots of health problems. I don't regret it one bit, though. I can't imagine the past eight years without my baby

Lexi did alot of scratching when she was a puppy.
I have read that some are allergic to Corn.
She was on Eukanuba Puppy food.
We changed her food to a better one with out Corn & fillers.
She is on Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lovers Soul right now.
We just recieved our Canidae Samples today.
We might switch over just because of all the recalls.
Chicken Soup had their can food recalled But not the Dry.
Canidae has Not had any recalls!!!
Also Ear Mites can cause alot of scratching in the ears.

Thanks, I was thinking of switching her over to Canidae and my cat to Felidae, I think I might now. The allergies might be to her food but we're not sure. And it's not ear mites, it's definetly and infection.

Hope she is feeling better with her meds.

Ah...what a doll baby, feel better real soon. Did they do a culture to see. what kind of infection it is? If not it might be a good idea, that will tell the vet what kind of antibiotic will work against it...some germs are more resistant then others. Don't know to much about allergies, but the shot probably had an antihistamine in it, that's how it works...it makes you sleepy. Good luck, and get well wishes, from Winston & I.

I'm sorry to hear your baby is sick, but like you said, it could've been worse. I'm glad you got some medicine, and I hope she feels better real soon!

Well, the shot the vet gave her helped the itching stopped, she didn't scratch yesterday or all night.

Scratching and Allergies...
 

My Alyssa is 3 years old. We spent the first 2 and 1/2 years of her life scratching, itching, and visiting the vet. The only thing that helped were steroid shots. She has been on Royal Canin and Ultra Small Bites and you name it and she has eaten it. After the recall I changed to Canidae. I thought I would have to order it on line but found all kinds of places within driving distanace that sell it. My girls both loved it from the start. I compared the ingredients and just about came up with the conclusion that Alyssa is allergic to the corn. Since using Canidae (I began with it on April l3) Alyssa has so much more energy. She used to just lie around or sit around ...and now is up and always running around. Her fur has improved to a very healthy shine and my two girls fight over the food. They have never done this before. I switched to it cold turkey. I did not even mix it with their Royal Canin. I just started giving it to them. One more thing: Royal Canin here is almost $l5 a 5 pound bad. Canidae is less than $l0. That really surprised me. Royal Canin was coming from Petco and my Canidae is being purchased at a doggy boutique locally. I don't understand the difference in price. Oh well...

Thanks, lots of people have been suggesting Canidae, and there is a shop that sells it 2 miles away, so I'm going to go pick some up tomorrow. Maybe it'll help her with her allergies.

she's doind much better, i think we're taking her back tot he vetthis weekend or the next for a checkup to amke sure everything is back to normal. she looks much better, but her hair isnt back yet, but i'm just happy she's mostly ok again
