maybe its like perfume, ya do know, it all smells different on different people. Everyone has a different body smell and i'm sure dogs do to. I didnt care for the smell either. truthfully, since i have the espree now thats what i'm gonna be using now. I love it and today i gave maggie a bath in the shampoo and conditioner in one, it reminds me of plumeria from body and bath. I use that myself a lot. |
Welp, I ordered a sample too. I'll post a review once I get it. I'll use it on Meiah since she's the only one I have with long hair right now. I'm real curious if I'll like the smell too! |
Email the company and they will send you a sample--I like it and the smell does not bother me. |

I will give it another shot. I do love the way that it made her coat feel. But I can get the same result from the biogroom with a much more pleasant smell. I think it has maybe one more application left in the bottle so I will try it again. |
I'm wanting to smell this stuff now! LOL! Seems like it has a different effect on alot of people. I use a product these days by Isle of Dogs that to me, has a "bug spray" smell at first, but once it sinks in the coat good, it really smells good! It also does it's job which is most important. Aside from the different views on the minksheen smell, do many of you find it actually does a good job? Thanks. |
I think it smells like avon's skin so soft too!! And I love that smell!! I posted that on the original review of it but noe one else seemed to think so.... |
I had a sample and the first few times I used it I wasnt crazy about the smell but it didnt seem that bad but seemed to loom in the air on her afterwards and the more I smelled it the more I didnt like it. This bottle was the most shipped around bottle I bet on here. a yt member ordered it, so it was shipped to her, then she sold and shipped it to me now i've sold and shipped it to a different yt member and she said she loves it so she took it off my hands. I love the espree tho. LOL |

I got my sample in the mail yesterday, and I just requested it on 5/24/07 - that was super fast! I noticed the bottle says that it's good for repelling fleas and ticks because of the eucalyptus. Do you guys that use Minksheen ALSO use a flea and tick repellant, or do you think weekly baths in Minksheen is enough to do the trick? |

my camera has been sent in to have the soft ware cked on it but when I get it back i'll make some pictures of her after using the espree and send them. |
So does is really repel the fleas? I just sent for my sample. I have never had a problem with flea until the last grooming appt. Peanut came home itching like crazy. He gets a bath weekly with buddy wash and lavender, but I keep finding a flea here and there. I don't want to use chemicals on him, I hope minksheen works. |
I kind of like it. It reminds me of after shave. Envision a hunk, one of the Chippendale dancers, while bathing your baby and you might grow to like it. :D |
P U :( it smells like a bad citronella candle. I got my sample today, I'll try it out once because everyone likes the results, but no wonder it repells fleas! I use revolution for that, I'd rather the babies smell pretty. |
OK, I gotta tell ya, it smells bad in the bottle, but I bathed 4 dogs today, and the smell doesn't linger and once they're dry they just smell a little like patchoulli. I was very skeptical, (especially smelling the bottle) but this is a wonderful product, it worked very well on 4 dogs with slightly different coats. They were not really shiny when done so I finished with the CC Ice on Ice and they look fabulous. Time will tell, but no one had dandruff or was weighted down, so it shows a lot of promise. I like that a creme rinse/detangler is not necessary, nice. My sample is gone, so I'll have to order to test this longer, but it seems to be a very good product. |
Ok remember I definitely didn't like the smell the first time I used it on Lulu...the smell was strong. I just bathed her again with it to give it a try before I dumped out the remnants of the sample. Well I have to say yet again I love the shine and feel of her semi-cottony coat afterwards and the smell seems to have faded and is not making me sick. I think that the biggest problem the first time was I forgot to shake the bottle. This time I shook it like a milk shake. The smell is not bothering me. The first time I used it on her I have to say that it literally made me feel sick to my stomach. I guess I will be buying a whole bottle for her. While it's not the greatest and sweetest smell right now being summer with all the bugs and skeeters out I think it's worth using it and forgoing the nice smells. |
My 9 y.o. daughter says it smells like pine cones. I agree and we both like the smell. We did not try it yet on our yorkie but did wash my daughter's long straight hair. OMG, the result is unbelievable! Her hair like in Pantene commercial without using any conditioner! I will order human version of the shampoo for her, or maybe we can use this one :D (Mane&Tail is also for animals and many people use it with great success, even my friend and her daughter.) |

Dunno if I can say I love it but I am going to order the bottle and use it on her. Her coat does look great and pretty silky after using it. This time the smell was much milder. Glad I reread the post. I planned on ordering the bottle of it and this just reminded me. :D |
