My daughter was almost scammed I know this has been covered before but now it almost happened to one of my children. She answered a "Yahoo" ad for a Yorkshire Terrier for adoption-just pay shipping. Before she even finished telling me the rest of the story I said-"Let me guess-The puppy is in Nigeria, right". She was shocked... I can post the guys reply if it is OK-it is really one heck of a "story"! Now she was savvy enough NOT to fall for it but people MUST or these scammers would quit. How can Yahoo and places like that allow such ads? |
I have no idea but I'm glad your daughter didn't go for it! |
I'm glad she caught on before she lost her money and got her heart broken. I'd love to see the emails- they're always entertaining. |

These people make me sick :thumbdown "Pastor Bruce" How low can you get to sign as a pastor  Glad you guys didn't fall for this. |
It makes me sick that these scammers have to throw a little religion in there...grr... Kathy |
GGGGGGGGgggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! |
ahhh...thank goodness she didnt fall for it. it seems that it us always the same story, they are always a pastor or reverend, etc. nigeria, missionary.....what mean people to play with people emotions like that. |
i am so glad she did not fall for it |
I answered an ad for a Yorkie a couple weeks ago. Was the same scam. They make you think the puppy is in a town near you but when they get back to you the puppy is coming from Nigeria. Makes me sick that people have to scam others. |
Yup, I've answered a few of these myself. My husband warned me that it was too good to be true. Almost too coincidentally, my neighbor called me that her son had just been scammed trying to get a baby bulldog. She said that same thing. They were supposed to ship them from Africa. I said "maaan, puppies sure are popular is Africa. I would think the bigger animals would pray on these babies. Plus with the economics there, would they really be able to keep them in tip top shape? Hmmm.*scratching head* |
I don't know what i hate more...the fact that they are scamming innocent people or the fact that they stating they are christian people!! Hate it!!! I remember looking for a yorkie before I got Nathan and the difference was that he the seller was in the service and had taken the puppy with him and now had to sell her because he was being shipped over seas again????...Now how stupid does he think people are???!!!! I actually wrote him back and asked him why he couldn't just sell it to someone where he was located if it was a purebred and a yorkie at that!!! :) lol never got a reply!!!!! Glad to know your daughter didn't fall for that one!!! |
When I was first looking for a yorkie, my scammer sent me a similar email. I didn't fall for it, and I'm glad your daughter didn't either. I hate how they "use" religion to suck people in. How pathetic. |
