who has seen a litter like this??? 1 Attachment(s) Ok I think he is the most beautiful and rare yorkie I have ever seen. My vet asked me if I was keeping him or if i was selling him not to sell him cheap???? I have never seen it so to me it is new... :animal-pa |
i have heard something about "blue born" or something like that...is that what he is? if so, i have heard that they can have some serious health problems...did your vet mention anything like this? i am no expert and have never bred before, but I have heard about it and it concerns me a little. i am interested to see what others have to say... |
Exactly what color is he, is that a grey color coat? Please take more pictures and post, it will interesting to see him grow and what color he will be. |
WOW....:teeth:...is it blue ?? My breeder did have a solid blue puppy, I don't know if he kept it....What colors are Mom and Dad......We have 3 little ones and they were 6 weeks old last night........Congratulations.....:congrats:..... |
Please post in the breeders section, and do a search on blue born...I'm concerned about your baby, and there are those here with better info than I would have. I'm hoping for the best!!! |
Beautiful puppies, I am anxious to see what the gray one turns out to look like. I think it is amazing anyway how this breed of dog can have so many different looks. |

I hope others that know more will post.... |
I'm not sure if that's a blue-born, which I've read can have health issues. It kinda just looks off colored, maybe a chocolate. Let's hope so. Very cute like the rest I'm sure. Oh, to answer your question, who has seen chocolates? lots YTer's have the most gorgeos! Blues? Hopefully not that many |
It will be interesting to watch him grow up! |
Here is a link to a breeder that explains "blue born". She explains the genetics that give yorkies their color. It does say the "blue born" puppies are not healthy :( http://members.aol.com/CYorkie/Genet...Chocolate.html |
But of course, the most important thing is to find out if your baby is, indeed, blueborn. Perhaps previous poster is right and it's chocolate, or something else...I'm NO expert and its hard to tell color with a computer pic. |

I know, though, that you'll make the right decision for this little one. You are in my prayers. |
Awwww hopefully its not blue born and if it is it grows up and lives a healthy life... Dawn |
Thanks for the link! Here's  hoping & praying for your pups well being that he's healthy and we can't wait to watch him grow. :) |
We had a "blue" beagle once, so sweet! She was happy & healthy, but she's no longer with us (got hit by a car :(). |
he is not blue he is gold and silver the vet told me he was fine he was healthy so as of right now he is great... |
One of the grooming customers that come into the store has a blue yorkie. Hes a senior dog (not sure how old) and he seems to have done really well in life. He even has a pacemaker to help his heart that was put in recently |
Really really cute blue Yorkie. First for me too. I had never seen one like that. |
He looks to be a blue born yorkie. If you look at the link that was posted, they show a picture of a blue born yorkie and he is the exact same color as your boy.:( It is said that blue borns aren't healthy, they will have health problems, if you have a blue born without ever having these problems you are lucky. He might seem healthy now but that may not be the case when he gets older. I agree that the parents shouldn't be bred again and that you should not sell this pup when he is old enough. Sorry about the little boy, hopefully he will be one of the lucky ones to live a long healthy life. Congrats on the litter, I can't wait to see pictures of them as they grow up.:) |
Do you have a picture of the lil guys face? I have seen people think blue born and then they see the nose and say maybe not. They are sweet pups I wish you love and luck with your new litter:) |
A blue-born yorkie is not the same as an older yorkie with a steel blue coat or silver coat...A blue-born yorkie can have serious problems as it gets older. They won't be evident now, but they say that as they grow, the problems show...I pray that this baby does not have any of those problems...Please do not sell this baby for a higher price and you should probably just keep the pup yourself and make sure that it stays healthy. It would not be fair to a potential buyer to sell a pup especially for a higher price that will end up with problems later...Good luck!! And I'll be praying for the pup. The pups are adorable!!! |
I'm praying for that teeny tiny baby... |
