| Donating YT 14K Club Member | Not if the vet doesn't specialize in yorkies and we know that vets don't. This is a blueborn pup. From what I've been told, they have skin problems that can be quite painful. Also, I've been told that they don't live as long as normal yorkies. Their coats don't grow well, either. It's a genetic defect and to the OP, don't breed these two parents together again. Do you know if there has been other blue pups that they've produced?

I know, though, that you'll make the right decision for this little one. You are in my prayers.

				 | One of the grooming customers that come into the store has a blue yorkie. Hes a senior dog (not sure how old) and he seems to have done really well in life. He even has a pacemaker to help his heart that was put in recently

				 | He looks to be a blue born yorkie. If you look at the link that was posted, they show a picture of a blue born yorkie and he is the exact same color as your boy. It is said that blue borns aren't healthy, they will have health problems, if you have a blue born without ever having these problems you are lucky. He might seem healthy now but that may not be the case when he gets older. I agree that the parents shouldn't be bred again and that you should not sell this pup when he is old enough. Sorry about the little boy, hopefully he will be one of the lucky ones to live a long healthy life. Congrats on the litter, I can't wait to see pictures of them as they grow up.

				 | A blue-born yorkie is not the same as an older yorkie with a steel blue coat or silver coat...A blue-born yorkie can have serious problems as it gets older. They won't be evident now, but they say that as they grow, the problems show...I pray that this baby does not have any of those problems...Please do not sell this baby for a higher price and you should probably just keep the pup yourself and make sure that it stays healthy. It would not be fair to a potential buyer to sell a pup especially for a higher price that will end up with problems later...Good luck!! And I'll be praying for the pup. The pups are adorable!!!
