Thanks Toto's Mom! I had been using Johnson's No Tears Baby Shampoo. Will try that one. Do you get it at the Vet's? We only have one dinky pet store here. He just has birds and reptiles. It's no bigger than my frontroom. Can't get much there. That's a good idea about the drying. I always put the dryer in a coffee can and brushed her as she dried. She always buries her head in my arm. mybirdys2003 that is so funny that your little one buries her head in your arm when u are blowdrying her...Dolce does the same thing!!! I have to try the coffee can thing...i usually just have my boyfriend either holding her or blowdrying her while i hold her. The one time i tried it on my own was a disaster!!! lolI was running around the room after her like a maniac!!Everyone here is so helpful with all their tricks....what would i do without u guys?!?!? :D |
There is an item called the "Helping Hand," that I have to help when I bath my babies. It is a clip on extention arm that I clip onto my table and then the other end I clip onto the drier. It will hold the drier and moves so you can change the position of it. This way I can hold onto my baby while drying him/her. It is one of the better investments that I made a long time ago. Here is a link to one, only now it is called a third arm. http://www.cherrybrook.com/store/Pro...roductID=52840 also to keep water from getting in their ears I use those little earplugs that are made of a soft foam sponge that you squeez real tight and insert into the ear then they expand. This works great fomr my furkids. |
They don't like the air on their face, that's why i leave Mojo's head for last and i only blow dry with cold air, not warm. A lot of dogs get their retinas burned by blow dryers so we have to be carefull. I want to get one of those "third hand", but funny enough, is not for my yorkie but for my chihuahua that is impossible...while Mojo just lays there, my chi will go crazy trying to escape...hahahaha |

Saw the third arm, but honestly, the coffee can works real good. Lets ones hands free to hold the wiggle worms and brush them too, plus it is free! Thanks June Bug for the web site for the coat handler. Will avail myself of it! Also, thanks for the tip on the ear plugs, mm yorkies! That sounds like a good one. I know I can't get her to keep the cotton balls in. She's actually very squirmy to do anything with. Although, she lets me brush her teeth each morning and wash her eyes out. So, she will let me do some things to her. I know she hill get better after she realises I am not going to kill her! Ha! Pat |
