Poo picker or poo leaver, that is the question! When you guys take your babies for walks, do you pick up the poo or leave it. I live in an apartment, and there is a fine if they find you not picking up your babies poo. So the questions is: Are you a poo picker or a poo leaver? Ponder this for a moment. James |
I am definitly a poo-picker!! LOL. It seems like people come from all over to have their dogs go in front of my house - so I know how annoying it can be! My boyfriend wants to put one of those plastic bag dispensers on our front gate so that people will start picking up - but I think that is a little too ghetto for me!!! LOL |
I use that old "Do unto others..." philosophy and thus I am a picker. I live in a house and there is at least one neighbor's dog who keeps pooing in my yard and his owner is definitely a leaver - and it is ANNOYING! :thumbdown It is one thing to have your own dog's poo in your yard, but totally another thing when other dogs (and their owners) treat your yard like their toilet. Plus, I am not a picker by pure joy of the act, so picking up additional poo really sucks! It is not only rude but unsanitary since many nasty organisms can be passed from dog-to-dog through poo. So as unpleasant as it may be - I pick. |
I am definitely a poo picker. My yard is too small and would be covered with poo very quickly if I didn't. Besides I have alot of flowers planted if they poo in the flowers I leave it for fertilizer. |
I am mostly a picker, now before I get my head chopped off I have a good reson, there is one slimy neighbor that for the last 3 years I have asked over, and over agin to please not let his dog do his business in my yard and walk away from it to no avail. I actully catch him often, so finally I started taking Isis and NOva (my dobies ) over there for them to poop, he finally got the idea it wsnt nice to do. Though occasionally still does it. But other than that I am a picker, it is a law here with big fines |
Call me a "picker"... I began as a picker with my greyhound....Lori (RIP)....those piles were just WAY TOO MUCH to just leave laying......and as the grandkids started appearing it was mandatory to keep the yard 'cleaned up' ...... Now, Lori is gone, but the picker habit remains. When out and about (at the outlet mall and such) I feel like everyone is watching me to see what I will do....I keep little baggies in my pocket at all times.... |
I'm a poo picker! We live in the country and have a large yard. Still - I don't want myself, my kids or Sophie stepping in her poo! Also, I don't want to leave her poo lying anywhere, even at the dog park. Speaking of which, I walk at a human park every morning and it frustrates me to see boulder sized dog poo left there by irresponsible dog owners!! |
Definate POO picker here,,, Yet there are quite a few POO leavers in my neighborhood,,, cant be blamed on me though,, their poops are bigger than Bailey! |
poo picker picker here don't like folks letting their dogs poo in my yard so baylee's tootsie rolls get picked up :p |
Over here in England it is law that you clean up after your dogs but of course not everybody does, we always have done, we have Noah our little yorkie and William our Springer who has BIG ones, a tip for you we use baby scented nappy bags i think you call them diapers well over here they are cheaper to buy and smell a lot nicer than the ordinary poo bags, so if you have to carry them to the waste bin they smell a little nicer |
if i take my dogs for a walk ill leave the poop infront of someones house that i know there a leaver they wanna do it to me well see how much they like it lol |
Definitely a "picker"... I'm a believer in karma and I just know that if I am a "leaver" that at some point I will have the unfortunate experience of being a "stepper"!!! |
Its the law in Virginia in my city Chesapeake. People choose to ignore it but I pick it up unless they go in my own yard. I have actually been walking down the street and seen dog poo in the middle of the street. We also have a leash law and you dog must be on a leash too...but people also ignore that too. Chris |
Definitely wouldn't know because he never goes poop or pee when we take him for walks. Thank God. Is that normal? |
Our girls use indoor 'potty pads' complete with a 'Diaper' disposal system year round, but if we were to take them out at all we'd be "pickers" also. Its so rude and unsanitary not to mention the nasty organisms that are spread by not picking up. Lets insist on a new law " PICK IT or TICKET "............... |
Picker all the way. It really irritates me to see huge piles of poop when we are out on a walk.. people always look at me like mine did it.. and I'm like, are you kidding me.. that pile of poop is as big as my dogs! What bothers me more than the poop being there is what could be in that poop.. those dogs could have worms or be sick or something and it's hard to keep mine from wandering over to a pile to investigate.. I always worry about them picking something up. :( |
I'm a picker upper - and with a retriever it can be a carrier bag job ! |
I always pick up my dogs poop. I think it is impolite to leave it not to mention nasty for someone to step in it. I go to a lot of show and most of the people will pick up their dog's poop(There is always a couple of bad apples). But could you image if nobody did. The ground would be a mine field of poops in hours. Very nasty thought. |
We always pickup after Sophie. In NYC it's the law, and you can be fined for not cleaning up after your dog while walking them (even though the likelihood of getting caught is really slim). Not only is it irritating to see non-picker-uppers flaunting the law and nauseating to see piles of it left in the middle of the sidewalk, but it's grossly unsanitary, especially in a neighborhood like mine with lots of small children around. |

I am a picker too! I always bring bags with me and pick up every peice, and throw it away. We have a dog walking tail near my home and sometimes we'll be walking and I will see a dog take a big poop on the trail and the owner wait till he is done, they they both walk away. I feel like saying something to them, I think its so gross! Especially when our trail has doggie bags and garbages every so many yards just for poop! |
...I wonder if anyone would have the guts to say that they did not pick up after their dog. It amazes me to watch people who do not clean up after their dog. |
Lets insist on a new law " PICK IT or TICKET "...............[/QUOTE] I agree! We definitely pick it! If I see someone not picking up after their pooch, I will chase them down the street and hand them a box of ziplock baggies! They usually look very confused! |
I am a picker upper... I feel bad leaving Mochas poo especially since she insists on pooping in front of resturants and other stores on the sidewalk... lol... I have a funny sotry.. I left a little bad of poo outside of my door on my stoop for about 10 mins (just to shower) It was in a baggie.. I got out of the shower and opened my door and there laying in front of my door was the bag of poop and a note from my super saying you are new here but the policy is that we pick up after our dogs.. This was only 1 day after he told me to leave of bag or Mochas poop underneath a bush so she will always go there!! How weird!! |
I am a "PICKER"...we leave it when they poo in the backyard, as it is good for the yard...but anytime we are out and about we pick it up...we hate it when we see poo on walks and stuff, so we always try and pick ours up...I don't want our girls getting into any old poop that we don't where it came from... |
I live in an apartment complex and I ALWAYS pick it up. I have a little carrier for the pick up bags and scented bags (I take it very serious) and besides I get grossed out if I see Simon and Hallie sniffing poo! I always bust people too if they aren't picking up. After their dog goes and they start to walk away I always say, "Oh did you forget a bag, need to borrow one?" then I give them the thin ones I have hidden in my pocket! I'm not wasting my pink, scented bags on them ;) |
My 2 go inside on peepee pads so we pick it up & flush! |
Am I the only one to find this question VERY strange??? I can't believe that someone would even ask. As a responsible dog owner it is your responsibility to pick up your dog's s**t. I can't believe that someone would even question it. P.S. I don't want to start something bitchy, I'm just stating my opinion. I have nothing against the poster of the thread. |
Yay for the PICKERS!!! |
