I know how you feel, when I first took Rhapsody, I was so upset-- I was thinking that I couldn't afford a dog. She still had another round of shots to go, and I was terrified that something would happen to her, and I wouldn't be able to afford the vet bills. It motivated me to call around, and I feel I got lucky with the wonderful and very affordable vet I found! Good luck! |
I paid $65 for Nicky's spay. I had it done at the Humane Society, which my breeder had recommended. They did a great job and she was wanting to run around that night even. Nicky's vet was going to charge $175 to do the spay. You may want to check with your local Humane Society. |
:scratchhe Okay... I for one just don't get it! Spaying and Neutering is force fed at every Veterinarian's Office imaginable. But, the fees incurred are just outrageous! A procedure that would have cost me $60 by way of SNAP, Inc. (Spay Neuter All Pets, Inc.) just cost me $422.23!!! I can't complain too much I guess, since it was done on an emergency basis since she was in heat! But, the norm for what my Vet charges emergency or not adds up as follows: $300 Ovariohysterectomy - Canine <25 lbs $39 Pre-Op Blood Survey $9 Hazardous Waste Disposal (UNFREAKINBELIEVABLE!!! One would think this to be included in with the spay fees) $75 Removal of deciduous teeth ($10+ for 7 teeth!?!?) Just where do they come up with these prices...I wonder?!?! |
Are you ready for this!!?? Quote:
Lillie hasn't had a heat yet...it is going to cost me around $385.00.... for Sadie, who has had 3 heats, it's going to cost me almost $500.00!! THAT IS OUTRAGEOUS!! I am having them both done with laser but that is only $39.00 extra. If it wasn't for the fact that my vet is excellent and I worked for him many years ago (I know the treatment the animals get) I would search out another vet. I just cant believe the prices they charge..I just got pet insurance..I got it specifically to help with their spays...it is only going to cover $65.00 for each...it's better than nothing but, when you're talking $500.00 that isn't very much. |

You almost want to tell them you'll take the sh-t out yourself if it'll save you a couple of dollars! |
I just called my vet in regards to my girl getting spayed. They said it's $120 so I really would somewhere else if I were you!! |
My Murphie just got spayed yesterday and I picked her up this morning. They also pulled four baby canine teeth for a total of $229.00 and they sent her home with antibiotics. It was less than I was expecting. YAY!!! |
That's alot! I would call around. |

Hello everyone, I'm new here but I just got my Mickey neutered and I paid $ 87.00 for neuter and $47.00 cryptyo % 5.00 pain med . The pre exam blood work was all included in the neuter charge and to top it off they removed all puppy teeth for free. The vet asked me if he had any puppy teeth left and I said yeah so she said alright we'll get those while he's under. They didn't even put it on my bill. I would definately look around. |
I just paid yesterday $219, Spaying, pre blood work, teeth pulled, teeth cleaned, heart worm testing, micro chip, pain meds. I didn't think that was to bad for all they did. |
Just took Ceiba for her last shots and asked for an estimate to spay her. Breakdown is: Pre surgery bloodwork: $77 Spay: |
