This is going to be a long night for me! She is scaring me to death! She is breathing very fast in her sleep so I woke her and she just stared at me with her tongue hanging out of her mouth! I rushed her to her water but she didn't want it. She did lick some of my finger but how much could that be? Didn't want to pee and wanted no food so I brought her back to bed. She started it again so I called the vet! They just said some dogs pant or breath heavy when in pain. I gave her the medicines already tonight...I am not gonna sleep a wink, I'm so worried....

And her big sis is checkin on her...so funny because Vixxen doesn't care to have too much to do with her, but she is very maternal and knows the baby is "sick."

OMG your poor baby! And poor YOU! It's reading things like this that TOTALLY freak me out about having my baby spayed! :( I took her into the vet today for her last shot, and of course they asked me if I was going to have her spayed. I told them yes, but they said that due to her size, that I should wait until she is 8 months old instead of 6. She is very tiny - which makes me all the more scared :( I hope and pray that she puts on lots of weight by then :( She is just soo fragile and it scares me to DEATH.

I honestly don't know if I am going to be able to handle seeing my little girl in pain. Not that seeing a "big" dog in pain is any easier, but when they are so tiny and fragile - I just feel like it is so much harder on them somehow. UGH! I just hate this! :( Her spay is months away and I am already just DREADING it :( :( :(

I am saying prayers for your baby girl and I really do hope that she feels better soon. Ugh...I just feel so sorry for her! I want to reach through the screen and give her a kiss :( Please keep us updated on her :(

Thank you! I give her kisses for you ;) At least you guys understand...thats why I love it here. Doesn't she just look heartbreaking?!? It's hard. I feel like a bad mommy for making her suffer - even though I believe it is best in the long run! And you do have more to worry about with our tiny babies....you're right. Vixxen was under 3 lbs and just before she hit 6 months old when she was spayed and Truffles is 4 lbs and 7 months but I think it was easier on Vixxen!

Awww thank you so much for giving her kisses for me! I really DO hope she feels better soon! And I TOTALLY understand sweetie...even though I haven't gone through any of this yet with my baby, I do know that it's coming (unfortunately :() and it makes me a nervous wreck.

Your poor babies pictures DO look very heartbreaking...just seeing them makes me so sad! Which is why I just HAD to give her kisses! :( And I would be doing just as you are and staying up with her - Lord knows I won't get any sleep after Tatum's spay..

It's funny you mentioned that it was easier on Vixxen - because even though my Tatum is such a little mouse of a thing, lol...it seems like ALOT of things are easier on her than Stedman (my 4 lb'er). Just little things - like getting shots, having her nails trimmed, being groomed/brushed, having her baths, etc. Stedman SQUEALS like a big 'ol baby when he gets his shots, Tatum just sits there perfectly still and doesn't make a peep. Stedman FREAKS OUT when he is having his nails trimmed (it LITERALLY takes THREE nurses at the vet's office to hold him still while someone trims them! :eek:) .....Tatum just sits there quietly :rolleyes: And Stedman is a little TURD in his baths and Tatum obviously loves them, because she behaves like such a little good girl! I don't know, I guess Stedman is just a big 'ol baby! lol :p

I'm sure that I am just a worried, freaked out mommy :( I am hoping and praying that when the day comes, she will do great and everything with her spay will be just FINE! :)

Ahhhhh...bless her sweet little heart! I hope the pain meds work better and she can rest comfortably! You too! Hopefully by tomorrow, she will show great improvement. Normally by the second day, they do!

I remember when Maddie was spayed and I worried before and after, but she came through it well, except for getting an infection in her incision. Now I've got Libby and am figuring probably August for her spay, so I'll be dreading that day!

Oh, I am so sorry! When Bobbi has pain, he pants and whines like a baby.........it is so heartbreaking for a parent.

I hope your baby is feeling better today. Was she spayed?? I am sorry for not knowing the story behind her feeling badly but I do hope that she gets to feeling better soon! Maggie was just spayed on Friday and she has been running around like her normal self since the next day. The first day was very heartbreaking...she laid around all groggy and lathargic.

Give your girl kisses from us...we hope she is bouncing around very soon. Do keep us posted!!

Poor little Truffles, that first night is always rough:( She should start feeling a lot better today and before you know it she'll be bouncing around wanting to play with her sister:)

Hi V - she is better today already. She slept through the night but whimpered a couple times :( I just tried to keep her comfortable - breaks my heart to see my babies in pain....

Aw don't be sorry for not knowing! Sometimes there is so much going on here on YT I am finding I miss a lot if I actually have a productive day-lol! Yes, she was spayed. I put it off as long as possible - she turned 7 months on Friday and she is 4 lbs. She also had TEN teeth pulled!! And her wittle mouth smells of blood :(
Glad to hear that most of our babies are back to normal by the next day! She is still resting but I can tell she is much more alert ;)

I hope your little girl is feeling much better today. That's very sweet that her sister was checking on her last night when she wasn't feeling well. :)

It scared me to see her pant like that in her sleep! And then wake up from what I thought was a dream and just stare at me with her little tongue sticking out! Today will be better ;)

Was Maddie on antibiotics after surgery and still got an infection?? Poor baby. Truffles is very interested in licking it today....I don't want to put that cone on her wittle head though so I am watching her for now.

Thank you! I wonder about the pain meds, because the instructions are just to give it once a day - before bed and with food?? Dr wants me to update him today so I will ask what he thinks if I see she needs it. She is doing better already today...has walked around a bit and is eating and drinking :D

Awwww thank you Momiji!! We miss you! And thank you Kana for calling to check on her-and me! She actually finally ate some chicken and rice about 11:30 last night! I was so happy about that!
Honee we would love to see you guys, but we are supposed to go to Great America for my stepsons bday....Saturday or Sunday, but I think it will be Sunday! If that changes, we would love to visit!! I'll keep you posted ;)

Ahh, I hope she feels better soon, I know how you feel, we feel so helpless not knowing what to do for them.

Thank you Kana! We may have a change of plans now....depending on the rain and it is in the forecast! So we may put off GA until a more sunny weekend! But thank you very much for offering because I was going to take 2 cars to come home early so I didn't have to leave Truffles that long!
