There is a great article from a few years back in the YorkshireTerrier Magazine that is mostly for professional breeders and handlers. You might find the same info on a site for GoldenRay Yorkies, but I am not sure.
I love my choc boy, Snickers, and the other, Truffles. But, they do not have the same quality of puppy coat as my standards. I am awaiting their adult coats to see if they soften and grow nicely...
BTW, many of the chocolates are from black and tan parents and occasionally from the blues as well..

I didn't get your PM, but I have read the Goldenray Yorkies info. I have read everything I can and most of them more than once. I'll keep looking for the PM.

Bless you all!!! I cannot tell you how many times I have lost my religion trying to post to the forum. (and my hubby is a retired minister...LOL) I will choose some pics and forward them..I have had several offers so I will send to the first one..

Hello, I was just reading all the post and got to thinking about the puppie that I have bought. He is so playful and has all the features of a yorkie except for the hair. So I think that he is a red legged yorkie. He is actually a chocolate yorkie but his hair is not growing on his face or back it is growing a little on his legs and stomach. When I got him I thought that the woman had gave me a mixed breed dog and for the money that I paid for him this really upset me. I am still upset that he has not gotten long hair but I still love him to death any ways.

One thing I love most about the little Yorkie ---is all the different colors they end up being.

Unfortunately - off-color (beautiful unusual colors) cannot be shown, and they should not be bred. And I definitely get angry with the people who advertise them as wonderful little "rare Yorkies" and even try to charge more for them.

I think your little red Yorkies are going to be beautiful and will be wonderful loveable little pets. I am sure that you were surprised to first see them.

Mine is fast turning sliver and a light tan (I think - because he changes every day). I am excited to see how he turns out. He is registered with no limitations --but will not be bred or shown. He's a pet, and, a wonderful little dog.

PS - I have seen Yorkies of so many colors on this site (it's fun to just cruise around and look at the different colors).

It doesn't bother me when people claim them to be "rare,"...they ARE rare. I sure as heck don't see them very often. It does irritate me when people try to charge more for them because of their rare color.
