So I think this is interesting. I am a young woman :) putting myself through college and I am a manager at the McDonald's in my town. The other day a girl walks in with her chihuahua puppy ..granted he was sort of in a carrier, but everyone knew she had a dog. Now, I AM a dog lover on every level, but I was flabbergasted. If our health department was there, we could have been shut down :( Of course, another manager politely asked her to take her order to go..we did allow her to place her order and wait for it...but I just thought this thread was interesting because while I take Brookie everywhere also, I was just baffled by this young woman, I mean some of us might hide our babies in purses and what not, but as far as restaurants go, ANY animals are considered a critical food safety issue and you can be fined/shut down.... SO I am going to say that McDonald's can definitely not be on this list..LOL :) But alas, someday maybe the health department will calm down, and I can take Brookie to work with me !! :) |
Yes, we asked the manager the first time. Now, we go in regularly. They are in the same strip as Petsmart and Michaels (we go in there too). |
I don't shop there but I have taken my furkid into Target before. He just rode in the kid-part of the cart. I was actually surprised no one said anything because people around here are not friendly at all. Like a previous replier said, I just held my head up high like there was nothing at all wrong with it. I think it depends on your area and the type of store it is... I wouldn't take him into a grocery store or anything. Just be prepared to encounter a nasty associate that might try to kick you out! |

i agree!!! i don't see why BBB would mind - there is no food in the store. well not like a grocery store i mean. i also think it has alot to do with what time you go - if they have a little more people in the store then they may flex their muscle! i have seen a lady in lowes with her cute little pug and he was sitting in the front - where you put your kids - and as sweet as could be! thanks for the dog friendly link! i have never heard of it so i will check it out! |
