well they thought that a yorkie and a yorkshire terrior were 2 different breeds OMG:eek: i am so motherly lol. i guess it would be over whelming when i try to tell them all the stuff i have learned over a year in 5 minutes lol:rolleyes: |
but my other friend has a yorkie to and they want to breed her well she is 10 months old and they don't even know if she has had a heat yet. Also the other friend from the pet store the dog is apri and they want to breed her as well not that i have anything against breeding i just wish they would research a little first they have no idea about the breed let alone about breeding |

I often think if I knew then what I know now would I have Buddy? Probably not because: 1. He was purchased from a pet store 2. He was 6.5 lbs at 14 1/2 weeks old 3. I paid $1,400.00 for him. 4. He is registered EKCH Sometimes knowing less is better:D In my case I thank the Yorkie God for such a wonderful, healthy pet. |

what is EKCH? i have told someone at a petmsart dont buy a dog from a petstore because they asked me where to find one that sells dogs and they looked at me like i was crazy..oh well at least they were informed even if they didnt believe me or know what to think! |
I just had this discussion with my mom and dad the other day, about knowing too much! I said maybe I know too much for my own good! But then again maybe not! I have helped them out with their dog, and I know they appreciate it. (I guess they have to, because they are my parents!;) ) |

EKCH is a European registary. European Kennel Club, Hungary is what it stands for. Buddy was born there and his papers are all in Hungarian. The private pet store where I purchased him from was a broker! I would never do it again since I have become educated thanks to YT but I was one of the more fortunate ones with pet store pets. |
I always feel like a know it all when I'm telling my family how to take care of Wobi...They look at me like I'm crazy for being so overprotective already...My boyfriend brought home greenies the other day because the guy at the petstore recommended them  |

This is a funny thread - I don't feel alone anymore!! As a groomer and owner of Yorkies I get asked for advice or suggestions and off and running I go. After a 30 minute discussion I had one owner say "could you come talk to my Rotary Club - they'd love to hear about puppymills". I started back peddling and said ohhhh, no thank you I don't think you want me in front of a bunch of ppl standing on my soap box given a free forum to vent about puppymills. I try to censor myself but sometimes... |
I've been a yorkie owner for 3 yrs and Ihave 3 yrs experience, that's all. I have learned tons of information and still have lots to learn! When asked , I'm honest and tell them about having a tiny yorkie because so many people ask me where to get one that they want one so bad.I tell them if they really want a small one to do a little homework and google small yorkies. I always tell them that if they have a full time job and busy life then a tiny yorkie might not be for them, mainly for the first couple of months. I devote sooo much time when I get a puppy and it can be draining but I love it because it's also when I get to bond with my furbaby. Sometimes I catch myself giving more information than I think they can handle. I can clearly see it on someone's face when it's time to wish them good luck on their new puppy search!
