Do you really update your.... breeder?....I was just wondering how many owners have kept in touch w/ their breeder??...I know we say we will, but have you really?....I received Jack two years ago & I've sent updates about 5 or 6 times since then...sometimes I wonder if the breeder has moved on & now feels it's ok to stop.. or if they always welcome updates no matter how long it's been?...I guess sometimes I wonder if I'm a nuisance... |
I tried with Chanel's breeder but she didn't care one bit. :( You learn alot in 5 years and if I were ever lucky enough to get another yorkie you can bet I'd choose one that really loves each puppy like it's her own. I heard she has pictures of me with Chanel on her wall but that was a picture my husband took ...and she only has it there to sell more puppies cause she never ONCE returned a phone call or email to me after the 1st week I had Chanel With Cheri's breeder they moved and I lost touch. |

I send pictures and updates. She is a wonderful lady and breeder.........she is always there to answer my questions too. Plus, she's a YT member ;) |
I do almost weekly !!! LOL But maybe thats because she is My Mom .:) and has my dogs mom and dad too :) Oh and BTW my mother keeps intouch with all her pups and even babysits for free any time. I wish she were closer to me :( |
That's to bad she had that attitude....I guess that would send a clear message she only wanted to make a sale.....I would have been a little hurt if mine did that...at least they have you to shower them w/ kisses & hugs.... |
I love keeping in touch! The Mastiff puppy I'm getting in May is coming from such a wonderful breeder, and I email her at least 2 or 3 times a week, we talk on the phone, etc. I know it will continue after that, as she loves every single one of her babies and wants to know where they're going and how they're doing in their new lives. This is the same relationship I'm looking for with my yorkie breeder :) |
Daisy mae 06 I thought "OH My!!" until I saw it was your mom.LOL |
I plan on keeping my breeder updated. She is such a wonderful, responsive person - and she's in the same state as me. She's VERY well respected, a known show-enthusiast. Plus, she approved me to have a tiny that happened to come out of one of her litters, so I think it's nice to assure her that he's thriving. |
I guess I was thinking from their end also ..if they re-home a dozen or so in a year after a couple of years that is a lot of updates to keep track of & it would get over whelming to answer all the mail & remember names..lol |
I sure do. I send photos and greetings on holidays to the breeders of my girls and they both usually sent a greeting back. Sissy's breeder has photos of her on her website as well!! |

Yes I stay in touch with my breeder and I send her pictures everytime I get some good ones. she is a wonderful person and has given me her phone number to call if I need help with Ollie's whelping. |
You guys that do keep in touch,do you think you will continue for the life of the dog.... |
The breeder i bought from tol me they love pictures to make sure we send them well i emailed them to her a few months after we had gracie and never got a reply ... i was pretty upset ... just seems like she isnt interested anymore you kno |
I send pictures every now and then, and the breeder is so sweet about it...I do wonder as well if she even knows which one Scout is from 2 years ago, but she always seems to. I have a friend who recently bought one of Scout's half brothers and her cousin is getting a little girl from her. They told her they got her name from me and they said she remembers me well...She's probably thinking, "it's that Yorkie crazy woman who sends me pictures all the time!" LOL |

I do, I send emails all the time with pictures, and cards during major holidays via snail mail. Also, I call Tiger's breeder, Sheri, a lot. She answers all my questions, which has been tremendously helpful in research for my book. Sheri also doesn't work, so it's easier to just chat with her on the phone. Angie, Rhapsody's breeder, responds to my emails, but I know she's really busy (works part-time, has 1 daughter graduating from High School, and 2 in Junior High) so I try not to bug her with phone calls. :) |
I didn't get Brandi from a breeder....my son's friend has her mom and dad......Brandi is from their second litter.....I take Brandi to see her "grandpa" at least once a month......and he's her #2 on her myspace page......I also just got to "fur"babysit her twin brother Kobe for a week |

I talk to Sadie's breeder at least once a month - she calls me and I call her. I brought Sadie back to visit her a couple of months ago. BTW, Sadie couldn't WAIT to leave that Yorkie madhouse - she's VERY used to being an only child :p. |
I send pictures of Maggie to the family that re-homed her to us 4 yrs ago. I took her to visit once and they called all of the cousins and aunt to come and see "Baby". Sunnie's breeder and I became good friends and we are only 30 min apart and visit quite often. I thought that I would drive her nuts with my calling every week and telling her how much we loved getting our little Sunshine. I am lucky that I know where all but one of our babies are at and how they are doing. I just love updates and I also get to babysit for a couple of them when their mommies need a sitter. |
We visit both breeders pretty regularly and have been for 3 yrs. Daisy is from the breeder's first litter of yorkies so she's pretty special, and the breeder we got Teddy from kept a female from his litter and loves for Teddy to come and visit. We love both of our breeders. I will stay in touch for the life of both of my babies unless the breeder is no longer interested at some point. |
Uhmmmmm, No would the answer. My Bijou is a puppymill baby. I am sure the breeder wouldn't know who my dog was. I can just see my reply.... Hi there, here is updated photos. My baby still has some kennel cough going on. Hope you aren't selling sick pups anymore. My baby still hasn't grown any hair, bad genetics I guess. How many millions of pups have you shipped out recently? Thanks for the puppy you nasty puppymiller. Good day. I wish I had a decent breeder that I could keep updated. I honestly would love it whether they remembered me or not. |
I try to. Misha & Max I always get a responce from the breeder. I didn't send pictures of Misha for 6 months. The breeder called to find out how she was doing, & wanted me to send recent pictures. Piper on the other hand, I stopped sending pictures. She was very sick when we got her. Her weight wasn't supposed to be over 4 lbs. She in now over 7lbs, and were checking her liver. I don't think the breeder wants to here about her. She never writes me back when I send her updates. I just don't ever refer her to anyone. That's ok, we'll take special care of Piper she my precious little girl. |

I talk to my breeder EVERYDAY :D I got Jersey from Breny and we talk everyday on YT and atleast once a week on the phone. When Jersey goes to the vet or anything I always call her and update her. If I have a question about something she's right there to answer ANY questions I have even if its about Daisy and not Jersey. I can honestly say that I have found a great friend!!! I couldn't be happier with Jersey!! Thank you Breny again!!! |
