| How much water when exercising? Every afternoon when my kids have baseball practice/games, I take Summerlin to the rec center with me. As a result, she spends a large amount of time - roughly 2-3 hours - running around and playing with children. (Always on a leash of course, held by me only) Anyway, she usually only drinks about 3-4 oz of water. I keep water down in a small bowl for her, so that if she wants some she can get it, but she never drinks any more than the 3-4 oz. Is this enough since she is playing/running so much? Also, when we get home, all she wants to do is sleep.... we usually get home about 8:30 or 9:00 and she will lay around for about 30 minutes and then she is out for the night... Is that normal? Thanks for your advice! |

| I think that if she needed or wanted more water she would get it. If she is just sleeping because she is tired and not falling out from dehydration or heat exhaustion I wouldnt worry to much. My baby Britain runs like a mad woman all over the place. Sometimes she goes hours without taking a drink....other times she drops whatever she is doing and sits at her water bowl for almost 2 minutes straight and then goes back to playing. She knows when she is thirsty. Just keep doing what you are doing and keep the fresh water available so when she does decide she needs some its there. |

| I think they drink what they need but if you are really concerned just call your vet. Or maybe provide Pedialyte instead of plain water. Just a thought
