I am honest MOST of the time :D See, I have a part-time job exclusively for my 3 furballs 'needs'. It may not be much but it gets their vet bills, grooming supplies, food and whatever else they might need. Hubby does not have a problem at all but of course he has no idea how much they really cost to support. I am lucky because I don't pay any other bill. He has never allowed me to pay a bill and tells me to buy the kids their things instead. We are always on a budget but he is the best husband in the world. I can't wait to finish school and get a real job though. ;) |
You know, the funny thing is, that I have been completely honest about all the things I buy my dogs. But the only thing I have hid from him is the fact that I donate to YT. I'm not sure why I havent told him, but I just don't think he would understand the bond I have with this site. |

My daughters always make it a point to bring new guests to my closet to show them how crazy their mom is! Everyone who sees it always says " That's so sweet or cool! " My neighbors of course think I'm nuts lol.I made a carrier slingbag today so I can take him more comfortably and he usually just lays down and falls asleep. My h is very controlling, so I buy first and sometimes tell later or else I wouldn't be able to have anything. (seriously) When he sees something new and asks about it I have come to rely on - "I've had that for awhile now..." :rolleyes: Seems to satisfy him! :D |
I am glad I can show my boyfriend that I am NOT the only one. LOL. Watch what you are wishing for. I remember that my father had no clue what clothes I had growing up, who were my friends and what were my interests. When I became an adult, I wanted somebody who would be an equal partner in everything, including raising kids. My boyfriend is this type of person. Naturaly, he knows everything that is going on in our dog's life. My furbaby is my real baby substitute. I buy stuff for her non-stop. It's crazy. My boyfriend gets mad all the time because we have two mortgages that we are paying - one is his old house that we put on the market and the second one is for the house that we just purchased together. To be quite honest, you, guys on YorkieTalk, don't help when it comes to limiting the spending as well. LOL. Most of the stuff I found or bought was recommended by somebody on YorkieTalk. I bet if my boyfriend limited my access to YorkieTalk, there would have been far less money spent by me. Ha, ha.... NEVER |
My husband said,"You have a problem" My husband does not think that dogs should wear clothes. Although, he grins from ear to ear and says ,"How cute she is all dressed up" He also said, "You probably spend more money on dog clothes than you do for yourself!" {Almost true} After reading these posts and showing hubby the pics of the "doggie dresser" He now knows I could be spending a lot more.......lol I work and spend my own money. I Never tell him how much anything cost! Afterall, it's My Money and MY Dog! I take very good care of her and give her lots of attention.:2puppy: |
right now is a great time to buy from target or walmart if you have one near,all there winter items r on clearance, i bought karleigh a new bed yesterday and a new hot pink sweater, all for under 20.00, hubby dont see y im buying winter clothes when it spring,hey bud what about next year,lol;) |
No I don't even tell my bf sometimes how much I spend....even though I pay he'll think I'm crazy for spending so much!!! I always say I spend less on things than I really did. I work 2 jobs, the 2nd is to be able to buy my babies things. :D |
This is a great thread. I usually don't shop for the "kids" when hubby is with me. If he sees new stuff for them he usually says, don't they have enough stuff already. I think he's jealous. I just tell him no. LOL |
