				 | Of Course And you too! Let me know what your Vet tells you. We will PM each other to make sure we the get message! THANKS! P.S. I am sure they will be fine, I was reading a little about Irradiation. Here is the info: http://www.physics.isu.edu/radinf/food.htm I don't like the idea of it and I hate that I was feeding my babies it, but there are countries that do this to a lot of things. However, there's no way that this method isn't going to have harmful effects down the road. So, it is best that we NEVER feed things that do this to our babies or ourselves ever again |

				 | I'm confused, are these part of the recall or just an issue because of the process in how they are made? Sorry, it's been a bad day and I'm just not comprehending this well and I want to know for my friend who feeds them to his lab. I just called him and he said he got them from Costco but they are something like Bennie and Penny not Waggin Trail.

				 | Those are the same ones I bought a couple of weeks back and Teddy choked on them and I thought he was going to die the second day we had them. When I saw the ingredients was nothing but 100% chicken and smelled how good they smelled I thought "wow, if we were ever stranded without food we could eat these if we had to!" Then I noticed that it said NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION! Exactly like that even exclamation point and all. I wondered why. I don't understand why they think it's o.k. for our pets to eat something that isn't safe for humans??? Must be because they don't pay the vet bills when our babies get sick! I think it's discusting the things that are done to us and our pets. We automatically assume that the things we are eating are safe when in reality we are all being used as guinea pigs every day. SAD Sorry, Just had enough of all this! Kim I hope everyones babies are fine!

				 | I just checked what I have in the pantry, and though it doesn't say irradated, it does say not for human consumtion! What is wrong with the dog food industry? They keep telling us we spend more and more on our pets each year; shouldn't that tell them how much these animals mean to us We would pay more if we were sure it was the best quality for our babies. From now on, it is only fresh food for sawyer, no treats from a bag or can! I can't stand to think something I gave him out of love could be harmful to him. Thanks for the heads up, you may have saved someones baby tonight.

				 | We've been giving Cujo "Bestro's Chicken Jerky Sticks" from WalMart. He loves them. He knows where we keep them and begs for them. I just looked on the back of the package and sure enough it says Treated With Irradiation. I never even noticed that they are made in China. Since they are 100% chicken breast, I thought they were perfectly safe. They are so popular that WalMart is usually out of them. I have two big bags that I'll be throwing in the trash. Why take a chance? I hope I can make some treats that Cujo will like. I'm scared to give him anything anymore!

Food irradiation is allowed in nearly 40 countries and is endorsed by the World Health Organization, the American Medical Association and many other organizations. Irradiation does not make foods radioactive, just as an airport luggage scanner does not make luggage radioactive. Nor does it cause harmful chemical changes. The process may cause a small loss of nutrients but no more so than with other processing methods such as cooking, canning, or heat pasteurization. Federal rules require irradiated foods to be labeled as such to distinguish them from non-irradiated foods. " There is some controversy about whether this is a good idea or not -- but the process is being used on human foods as well as that chicken jerky.
