What was wrong with the pup? I can't believe that these national chains are allowed to sell dogs/cats, We live in Manhattan and the big chains don't sell them. Some do cat adoptions through national orgs (e.g., SPCA) but I simply cannot believe that a city/state gov't would allow these places to sell animals. I see what the fish tanks look like at these places and I can't imagine how a dog or cat would be treated... |
from what animal services said, this pup was infested with every kind of worms you can think of and it had some other serious health issues. They thought possibly something neurological also. I will have more info in a week or so though . They are going to to an autopsy to find out. They feel that doing this it gives them a better chance of getting some good strong evidence to fight to shut them down. |

I absolutely hate Petland but i will occasionally stop in there and check things out. I usually will stop and get my grammas cat the catnip that he likes that I can not find anywhere else. Just so I have an excuse to check out the pups. They claim that I am not allowed in there anymore but they have said that in the past and I change my hairstyle and hair color so many times that how are they going to know or recognize me?? I will be really surprised if they do recognize me. |

It made me sad just going in there, and at the time I didn't know that they got their dogs from puppy mills. Heck, I didn't even know what puppy mills were but it still made me sad to see the living conditions of these pooooor dogs. They're cages are tiny and some barely have room to walk around. Do they even walk these things?? Jeez, I wish I could put the one over here out of business!! :mad: |
The only time the pups come out of those cages is to have potential buyers look at them. Otherwise there is no play time for them. They are not animals to these people jsut $$$ signs. It sickens me and I will do anything and everything to get them closed. I hate seeing these pups in these conditions. Some of them pups are so small that thier little feet fall through the grates of the cages but the employees of the stores do nothing. |
Reconsmama- what an awesome thing you did-sad for the pup, but you did save someone from being truly heartbroken! And Bless you for having the nerve to speak out loud about it!! If I lived near you- I would be more than willing to change yourr hair for you once a month for FREE just so you could march right back in there and do your thing!!!! I do hair for a living and love to do changes- and it would be for a good cause!!! ;) |

I will continue to stand up for these little pups that cant stand up for themselves. ANd I will continue to help dogs in need. I enjoy it and some day when I meet my maker I wanna have a room with a view of doggie heaven. :) Thanks all for all the kind words. I really appreciate it. I just thought that you all would like to hear about my adventures but I never thought that I would have such a huge response to what I did. To me this is just a day in may life to be honest. Thanks though. :D ;) |
